Because, while I have a Nvidia 4070 GPU, I am not satisfied with it, so, tomorrow, I was going to go to the computer store to swap my Nvidia 4070 for an AMD GPU ... until I read this video's description there last night. Now I don't know if I should switch anymore. This looks REALLY awesome and I would hate to be unable to play it simply because it doesn't support my company's GPU. I'm definitely not going to get a new GPU tomorrow or anytime soon anymore. It would be amazing if this could also work on AMD GPUs and also possibly Linux because then more people would be able to play this and I could both switch my GPU and play this, and I also use Linux, not Windows. A friend of mine would also really want to play this but is very disappointed at the Nvidia GPU requirement due to his GPU not being a Nvidia one.
@@DPBOXCurrently there is no universal abstraction for gpu device for the developer when using it for acceleration, if you are using gpu for model inference you need to configure a bunch of stuff, let's just say the code is gpu brand dependent. A lot is not supported on amd right now, like exllamav2, fast llm inference library it uses. So I can't promise anything. When it comes to linux, it's theoretically possible but would require too much work, I don't use linux on my main rig.
