Halifax Yorkshire master from Dave to Paul Martin and Mick cockcroft 1976
Preferred Ippo like this, before they ''modernised'' the place. Imagine Mike the Bike riding in the Polish League today...he would be fantastic and make a fortune!
Shit Happens!.. I am glad my cousin Mike pulled through... Nice meet there at The Witch's home track.. Greeting and Salutations from Reno, Nevada. U S A
How is Mike doing these days and what is he up to?
Too bad he ended up becoming a murder.
To be fair his missis was getting a shafting from someone else
attention seeking idiot
5 year ban for what ?
Broke down, then rode directly at other riders by going the wrong way around the track. He got done for drugs a few years after aswell.
I agree
A couple of drug tests and half the yanks would be excluded
Can't blame them, after getting a look and smell of you and your boyfriend who wouldn't!
I'd forgotten all about this, and his ultimate end
Kenny wasn't scared to speak his mind.
Peter Carr still showing them in 2019 . Won races by a Tattie field Yesterday at Cumbrian Kendal Scramble . Brilliant
Hard rider.....but cant forgive what he did.....end of....
Still not dead yet
Michael's card was marked....end of...
I think this was a combination of Frank Ebdon trying to make a name for himself and Michael being totally paranoid that refs were out to get him, which they probably were but by this time Michael was fed up with the whole day to day life of being a speedway rider, shame really. By the way Carl Glover who was the manager that day I thought was one of the best and most sensible managers we ever had, I think the riders respected him too, at the 1984 British final when it all kicked off with Carter he was called down from the stands to the changing rooms to sort em all out !
I heard he said he would fight them bare knuckle if they didn't behave..
I saw many home meetings from a referees' box in the 80s, meeting Ebdon & other referees many times. He was the worst by some margin. He could never see anything from a rider's point of view decisions all seemed to be based on finishing the meeting as quickly as possible. If a rider fell after being squeezed out at the first turn, you could guarantee that Ebdon would exclude him instead of putting all 4 back. He was also the only referee I have seen put the 2 minute warning on as the riders crossed the finish line in the previous race. On a very wet & greasy track, I saw him refuse to stop a race after a rider had fallen & couldn't get up, causing the others to ride past as they struggled to maintain control. They assumed the race had stopped until the leader (Mel Taylor) heard an announcement that it was not stopped. The track doctor stormed up to the box in fury then, after Edbon snapped back at him, he withdrew his services for while causing the meeting to be delayed.
Hallo das ist ja super super. Es gibt keinen der besser ist als der kleine Mann aus Kiel Egon Müller ich keine den Egon Müller schon sehr sehr lange
22 years ago today when Kenny did what he did very sad !!
rick ross try 32
1986 the day after my 10th Birthday
He killed his wife and then himself leaving their children orphaned. Sad.
Sad? The horrible rat murdered his wife for gods sake!
he was the only rider that mixed it with the yanks !!! real fighter on the track!!!! remember we have a good chat about speedway etc at Halifax ,after a practice day there he was a really nice young man, loved speedway and was committed to promoting the sport!!!!!
Just seen this.speedway is not dead
in his relative from my dad's side I've just recently been told wow :-)
pictures almost black and white verry poor sound quality
I still have my Hx Dukes autograph book full of the greats including Kenny's. Anyone interested in buying it?
@@grahamgray2421 Sold it mate, erm 9 years ago.
@@grahamgray2421 I forgot who bought it because it was NINE YEARS AGO.
The best die young ... this is surely fitting to Kenny Carter ! He was and is the best Rider in History, who (sadly) never won Speedway World Individual Title ... R.I.P. Kenneth Malcolm Carter ! Gone but not and never forgotten !
He doesn’t come close to the top 10 let alone best ever, and all this praise for a murderer makes me sick!
Yes much respect for him as a speedway rider ,but unforgivable what he done .
Didn’t he abuse then murder his wife then take the cowards ticket out?
shame he was such a nutter...............and murdering phsyco
Oh what have you found out he was a phsyco !!! ?? Please let us know thanks
RORYzWRONG
i bet when he looks back now ,, as he has now grown up he must think why did i do that .. but i must say that i do agree with mike a bit cuz back in 84 it was very harsh to be excludsed just for slightly touchuing the tapes . it was a very hard rule in those days when riders were used to rolling n rolling at starts.... just imagine if they allowed rollin again todays riders bought up on standing still would find it unfair if a new rider who had rolled beat them off the start!

and himself.
i know peter carr and he is a bit more chatty then that now :)
Hard and mad!
Then came the danes in the late 80's.
sad loss he murdered his fucking wife for fuck sake!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shaftlet - Agree totally. The guy couldn't adapt. Whatever you think of the motionless start, they were the rules and he acted like an utter blouse when others just got on with it. Still, he won it all as a rider, but still saw fit to act like a five year old on the track. I can only go on a wikipedia report of his misdemeanour, but riding the opposite direction, into oncoming riders sounds like pretty miserable behaviour. What really happened?
A talented rider whose fate that he was to be remembered for something else other than Speedway....what a waste!
great footage well done takes me back to being 12yrs old, love carter was my fav rider gutted what happened to him,a true racer and an amazing will to win.r.i.p mate.
Yeah he was great kenny he was like the john McEnroe of speedway.
No wonder Speedway's dying on it's a**e when people like Colin Pratt are in charge not only does he appear to not know what he's doing but his communication skills are a tad worrying!!!!!!!!
Kenny is really sexy, and has a really nice cast.
If "Tiger" Louis is 43 in this video, that makes it 1984....and I'm probably standing somewhere on the back straight there at Foxhall stadium ....those were the days.
If only John Louis had started his speedway career ten years earlier who know what he might have achieved.
lilspeedwaygremlin, i know it was a joke, but a sick, joke, he could have died going over that fence and your making jokes, grow up you idiot!
Kenny was king and still is ,from a Dukes fan
I was a cradley heath regular way back than and always shouted for Kenny regardless godbless king Kenny !
Blimey, this brings back memories! I could hear this every Saturday night from my parents place in Chartham Hatch. Went a few times, smell of Castrol R, cheap burgers....now why don't we have this back, give the kids something to watch rather than getting drunk on the street corners!
what a great rider RIP
