1992 Ford F150 Tailgate Hinge Repair/Replace

One tailgate side hinge had rusted through and fallen off of my new (to me) 1992 Ford F150. There is no replacement part for this piece, so we had to improvise or spend over $100 for another tailgate. I used a replacement hinge kit from Advance Auto Parts for a different truck. We measured the internal diameter of the replacement hinge, and found that it would go over the existing stock Ford be...

Thanks man! Worked like. Charm. Easy and cheap way to fix rotted or broke off tailgate hinge cups. Took me 15 mins to drill and tap two holes. Got it adjusted perfect. Plan to tap it in a few spots in the mig welder.
Awesome!! I've been trying to find something that would work on the tailgate side. I have seen people buy 1 1/4 inch pipe and weld on. This is a lot better because I do not have a welder. Amazon has these for about $8.50. Dorman 38645.
