Mick Lyon’s, one of the greatest Evertonians. He personified the spirit Everton players should show. UTFT
I got chucked off the special after the game 😂
Mike Bickle was an old friend... I even went on the bus to home games with him to the Golden Hind and walk the last mile or so to Home Park, he in the players entrance and I in the ground. On the Whitleigh estate earlier during kick-abouts we learned never to give Mike the ball... we'd never get it back!
Wow.
The only goal in Cherno Samba career
I was at Public school in Coburg St and we had been banned from going by the headmaster....surprisingly my mother who was actually a teacher (elsewhere) never objected to me going.....I was only one of three people from my school and got a detention for my troubles lol
Played footie with stapes at Southway athletic
14,000 🤣 I attended 100s of games at that ground and could judge the attendance within a thousand or less. There was knocking on 20k at that Mach, as for the next one v Bristol city......😉
Many thanks for uploading this. I was there as an 10 year old and these players were my heroes especially Barrie Jones and Nicky Jennings. It was brilliant to watch this after all this time. I really wish more people would upload games from the 60's ( it they are still available of course) My first game was Sept 1964 when i went with a school pal and his Dad -i;ve been hooked ever since. Thanks again-brilliant memories!
Wow
Oh well, one thing that hasn't changed in 50+ years is the terrible standard of the referees.
Unbelievable that elbow on Gerry. Knocked him out and just a yellow 😮
I remember that being a very long day! Great result though. Mick Lyons up front! Legend!
Bloody Nora I was one of the couple of hundred North End fans that day. Drove there and back same day with my mate Baggers (RIP). Marc Leonard ('striker') was played as an emergency CB and Plymouth's second was one of his two goals as a Preston player 🙈
I remember the 3rd goal vividly. United had just won a last minute penalty at Arsenal, but missed it, just as Plymouth took their corner. My mate was giving a running commentary with a large transistor radio glued to his ear. Then City broke to make it 3-1 and our name was on the Cup, just as long as we weren't paired with Liverpool in the Quarter Final........
Hey man, question. you seem the guy to go to, do you have the highlights from Plymouth Argyle Vs Nottingham Forest during 1976/1977 highlights from star soccer? if possible please could you upload it or give me a confirmation here if you can not get hold of that highlight yourself, who else could i possibly get in touch with to obtain this footage. thanks chap
Okay he was a member of the old beatles and left at the same year he joined 1959
Knew jonah at notts ,assisting neil warnock..R I P MICK
Lou Macari's goal was a contender for BBC's Goal of the Month for January 1974
I was there that night. Ripped the arse out of my jeans jumping a railing on the way to the ground, we lost 2-0, and broke down on the motorway going home. Got home at 2a.m. The joys of watching football eh? Hahaha
I remember getting the football special (one of several) that day. Think the RS were away at Ipswich the same day. Left at 6am got there at midday. Walked through the Park to the ground, loads of graffiti saying Scousers Die and Swilly End aggro 😂. We were all over the ground including there not so famous Swilly End. "Your going get your fucking heads kicked in" 😂😂😂. They got ran ragged outside the ground and in the park. Train left at six and got back to Lime St at midnight. Great day out. Still got the programme which was like a newspaper. Enclosure mob.
Cliffy Marshall 👍
Great day although it took us about 10 hours to get there, l do remember the train down being rammed and everton fans all over their stadium,we must have filled half the stadium that day, funny thing is l had to go back down there a year later for a trial for Plymouth. I binned that pretty quickly as it way to far.
That away end though. Love to see a big fuck odd Welsh flag there aswell. Swansea Till I Die what a team.
it’s the purple jesus!
I was there ....Greens forever 🙂
Proper classic FA cup battle. I was there. I was living in South London. I cycled to watch the game. Approx 20 miles. Don't remember the goals being that good! Great strikes from Marshall and Dalton! Geddon!
Brilliant team back then ,
I used to play with Gary Poole back in Newham for our school Nelson Primary where Gary Played 2 years above his age group, We done the Treble in 1977 - also Lived on the same street back in the day, a great little player !! - Still mates on FB with his older brother Danny
Never realised how many cha fed Swindon wasted 😂
Do you have argyle v bradford In 94/95 season? It was my first ever game
I'm afraid not - there's a real dearth of missing footage from the 94/95 season. If I ever find it I'll upload it here!
Travelled from Barrow in Furness for this defeat 👎⚽️🍺
I was there. Was one of Shilton's early games.
Leeds fan. I was at that game. We had to walk across the pitch to the coaches. Stopped at Newton abbot on way home to drown our sorrows lol
I just dont Remember this match????? Must been hidden i my litle brain. It wasnt easy to be BILLY Bremner those days. MOT ALAW
Got to say John Motson at 3.19 is wrong. Peter Shilton never did have a FA Cup winners' medal. Leicester lost that final.
Very hilarious
Oh Warren, how could you?
Love how Dave is bigging our defenders up as the Plymouth lad dances through us like we arent there!!
Such a shame Andy Thomas got that injury when he was on fire!
Those floodlights are shocking, as is the camera work
Super Johnny Francis
Yeah 2-1 to the average team who went on to win the league with a record points total. We still get dissed today 2023. Oh look! Div 1 Champions with 101 points. Surely Argyle will bottle it won’t they, Ipswich, Wednesday, Barnsley, Derby, Bolton, Portsmouth 😂😂😂😂
Are the floodlights on?
I was there 👍👍👍right on the railings, headlines in the Western Morning News ASTON VANILLA get a licking defeat 🤣🤣🤣by the way from 4 years old although I am a Avid supporter of Plymouth born and bred and PROUD ,my uncle was a director of Villa and I will never forget 1957 !!! Villa fans know what I mean ,BE PREPARED ???? you VILLA fans ❤️
Chelsea always cheating.
We were there, me, my dad and my best mate.
Two great clubs Pompey and Plymouth, The Dockyard El'Classico match.
That was my first ever Argyle away win - at my 20th (yes, twentieth) attempt !!
Dreadful kit for west Bromwich
