Recently just lost my little cousin and her mom on highway 101 in fortuna California from a guy who left the bar and purposely drove on the wrong side of the freeway almost hit my buddy but he pulled off the road and just a couple hundred yards later he hits my little cousin

I drove home after going to a restaurant and getting a few beers once(like 2-3 small town blocks) and even that was too much. I felt bad. It's just not worth it. The amount of flippancy you need to have to get in the car and think "This is okay" is enormous. You basically have to not care at all about anyone else. Standing around your motor skills don't seem much effected but as soon as you get behind the wheel.. if you don't notice that then you're not conscious. Just don't. Get a cab or something. Only go as far as you can walk or make arrangements to sleep somewhere

Very sad. The driver of the dui was young as well and this should and likely will haunt him for the rest of his days. Yes, people make mistakes, should it really cost another young life in prison? He should do his time for sure. I'm not sure he can not be redeemed. I feel for both families. It was a preventable tragedy for sure.
