LOVE THIS SONG! ABQ early 90s best!
This song was written about and for my friend Sylvia M.
Cluster - Caramel
Do you have the rest of the album in mp3 format?
Brilliant!
Hey, how nice of you to post this - love you for it - Jon
beauty if you know where to listen.
Great Rock n Roll.
Yes, especially after 2000 when Shannon McArdle joined the band and began contributing to the songwriting. She also has a good voice and she tells a story like she's lived it.
LYRICS: we're here at last just you and me alone we just got back and no one else is at home your eyes are glazed as if you're in a trance I read your mind it only takes a glance now turn me on and I'll respond to you like an animal but that's not really true if humans could leave well enough alone then a moan would mean the scene we've always known mo ma mon amana o nama non amona mon ama na no ama amon na namoa amo anam anoa na oana ma mo ma nano moa non a mon o manan ananam which means I want to I don't want to I want to I don't want to I want to I don't want to I don't want to repeat the times we tried to compete the times I followed you home the times you screamed on the phone every desperate thing I did will haunt my memory till I'm dead look at all that I've been through trying to get the best of you so here we are it's you and me alone the lights are out and no one else around your eyes are black I don't know who you are you're next to me but somehow you're too far now turn me on and I'll respond to you like a human being but that's not really true let's just this once leave well enough alone and our screams will mean the scenes we've always known let's just this once leave well enough alone let's just this once leave well enough alone 12345678910 12345678910 12345678910 12345678910
My fucking god where this have been all my life is it late or soon?
The best band of all time from Milwaukee
Except for the fact that you forgot to mention Plasticland I’d agree. Mike Fredrickson is a Genius Alien. I’m gonna write a song called Genius Alien. I’ve already written the answer song to this one - A Boy Like Iggy Pop.....🤭😜
Thank you! I heard this song about 10 years ago from a sadly now-defunct music blog, and it's been a favorite, but I lost the track with a computer and have missed it. This one and "My Brother Melvin" are my personal favorites from the album.
The song is just one, long crescendo with some of the best drumming I've ever heard. "Let's just this once leave well enough alone..."
Abq!
They used to open their show with this in their early club days. Instantly transfixing.
Grandi!
I just love it!
The paradise, what an idea!
Fahren fahren fahren auf der Autobahn...
Cluster - Caramel
Whosampled says that this song samples "Autobahn" by Kraftwerk.
+Reckno64 It doesn't sample it - it quotes it. It's not the exact sounds - just the same notes, but played by Stereolab.
Jeff Norman I think you're right. It definitely didn't sound like a direct sample. This song definitely has a Kraftwerk influence to it though!
+Reckno64 Definitely influenced! I'm sure they'd acknowledge the borrowed riff.
Jeff Norman I'm sure they did too. I wish other artists did though too.
+Jeff Norman It's called interpolation.
It uses the motorik beat, which was created to simulate the feel of driving down a highway. I love how the second half of the song has a wonderful hypnotic, soothing feel.
and it samples autobahn by kraftwerk which is literally about driving down a highway
@@evannewman8381 Cluster - Caramel
I thought this was Caramel by Cluster as it started off
The Living Stereo Groove looks like it's carved in delicious, sweet chocolate.

La La Love this album!

I went to school in Boston in the early 80's and this band has always been in my head for the last 30 years
