I survived an attack by 8 shepherd dogs. I defended myself only with the help of a pocket knife. A detailed description is in the video. My trip continued in a different direction. I decided to go down to civilization. In the city of Fagaras, I visited a beautiful cathedral. My sandals broke while crossing the swamp. I did a small repair on the spot. A few days later I did a major sandal repair. And I also had to repair my tarp with the help of silicone sealant.
Hitchhiking is an interesting way to travel and get to know local culture and new people. This way of traveling is different from what most people are used to. The pickup does not have an exact time of departure or arrival, the route is mostly approximate and the destination uncertain. Such travel is first and foremost an adventure. Due to the fact that I prefer simple, primitive techniques of camping and survival during my travels, I travel without accommodation. My dwelling is a simple tarp. In such a shelter I sleep, cook food, and sometimes rest. I am not an ordinary, modern traveler. I am a real adventurer.
My name is Daniel Plaštiak, I am from Slovakia, in the middle of Europe. I am an extreme adventurer and traveler. I am interested in primitive survival techniques and nature. I almost died in the desert in Morocco from exhaustion. I went to the Arctic Circle in Lapland wearing only sandals. I do winter hardening, often at the limit of my abilities and much more... I spend a lot of time outside the comforts of civilization, without accommodation, without a tent. I sleep outside, in a tarp shelter even during frosts, only in a summer sleeping bag. I cook my food in a folding wood stove. I occasionally consume edible plants and fruits from nature. Sometimes I look for food in the garbage. I drink water from natural sources. Whenever possible, I walk barefoot, even in the cold. I often hitchhike on long trips.
