We Think Beyond Our World, So You Can Thrive in Yours.

For more than 100 years, University Health has been thinking beyond what’s possible in medicine. This has resulted in creating a maternal fetal medicine team for women with high-risk pregnancies. It means we provide the only pediatric trauma center and only living donor liver transplant program in South Texas. It also means we’re leading the way in addressing diseases that disproportionately af...

Beyond our 100 years of innovation, a dad with diabetes will be healthy enough to see his daughter get married. And, a mom-to-be with a high-risk pregnancy will be supported by a dedicated and highly specialized maternal-fetal medicine team. It means matching a living liver transplant donor with a recipient for a life-saving intervention that will mean these two are “friends for life.” And, it ...

Dr.Draeger is a very heartless person who has no sympathy or heart! I wish i had the option to put minus a star instead of having to choose one. The day after the shooting at the Uvalde elementary school i had a appointment, I had already been crying the whole day before and that morning not wanting to take my children to school that morning because of fear and heartbreak but I still dropped them off that morning as I had been waiting for this appointment for so long and had already done all test required for the appointment as soon as she walked in the first thing she said in a very rude tone was why are you crying? Because of what happen yesterday and I said yes it's such a sad situation and she said you need to see a therapist I looked at her like excuse me she said I've been seeing you for a very long time and you seriously need help I was like excuse me this is literally our second visit together anyone with a heart would feel effected by the tragedy that went down yesterday she proceeded to say well all labs are fine I'm not concerned about anything and if you have pain it's just stressed related and you need to relax and lose weight I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I had notated on a piece of paper some questions I had about my labs that appeared elevated on my patient portal and asked her for clarification she said take your little piece of paper to your pcp so she could explain to you why they are elevated i said i actually did already speak to her about them and she said to wait for my appointment with you as you are the one that ordered these labs she proceeded to say i don't know in what point of time I lost you but you need to pay attention because I'm only going to tell you once more I looked at her in shock because I couldn't believe what I was hearing I said look you have been extremely rude this whole entire time I truly didn't want to come see you because I wanted to stay home with my children but I still came and just to be treated very ugly by you I am a concern patient about my elevated labs and you don't even want to take the time to explain to me but just stand there talking about I need help because I'm in my feeling about yesterday's shooting I am not one to ever ever speak up and just say ok ok ok but she took my feelings as let me stomp all over this girl because she's hurt and already crying, let me have her feel like more shit and not comfort her and try and explain the labs to were she's comfortable leaving knowing she is going to be fine health wise she then I guessed realized what a unprofessional human she was being and then tried to apologize and practically begged me to take out my paper with questions and tired to make things right after she had already did everything wrong she then tried to hug me which I felt disgusted by her cold hug I then said are you done because I want to leave to be with my children she said I want to explain the labs to you I want to continue to see you as a patient I said well I dont and I don't ever want to see you again in my life she said well follow up with your pcp and I said ok and left her office with All her nurses staring at me as if this wasn't the first time something like this went down now I completely understand why other doctors I have seen have talked very poorly about her and had already warned me a head of time how unprofessional she is but I wanted to give her a chance I now regret 1,000 % take this as YOUR warning to look for another rheumatologist this lady comes to work daily for her paycheck not because she cares about her patients.
