I have no idea how Bob Raefelson and Bert Schneider sifted through 400 applicants and came up with Micky, Peter, Mike and Davey....It comes close to being supernatural....Every time I feel down, I access these guys and, without fail, I feel better....If you get the chance, watch the episode where Davey is saying goodbye to the rest of the guys and returning to England with his grandfather.....I challenge anyone with a hint of empathy, heart, humanity or compassion to watch that and not get chocked up...To me, The Monkees will always be about the best the world has to offer...I think of Monkees, and the first word that comes to mind is "joy"....I love them...always have and always will..

The reason Mike was mimicking the Moog's various synth sounds on his own was because when they first performed the song live, Micky (who played the instrument on the original 1967 recording) was telling the audience that there are not as many Moog modular synthesizers around in 2012 as compared to 1967, that they were turned into other things after having been scrapped. The original modular synthesizer itself was also quite large with its various modules, and was difficult to program as well as being difficult to transport from concert to concert.

Todays kids will never understand the phenomenon that us 50's & 60's kids knew as THE MONKEES. They swept the nation in much the same fashion as The Beatles did, although perhaps not to the same degree. Those were special times that nobody will ever experience again on this earth.

Hi Guys, what a great video. I’m 64 now, and I used to race home every Saturday to watch The Monkees as a young kid. Great times, great memories, and great guys, with wonderful fun songs. Oh boy, to go back to them times would be something else! Sadly, we’ve now lost Peter and Mike. Rest in heavenly peace guys, and thanks for being a massive part of my life, and bringing to us all, such happiness 🙏🏼❤️
