He’s good in a lot of stuff. ❤him!
Edward Seymour is very good looking!!
Henry VIII killed remarkably few people, compared with the religious wars in Germany and later France. Henry’s iron fist saved lives, and secured English independence in the more enlightened days to come. Shame he did not abolish freedom of speech and burn books to prevent the future generations from badmouthing him.
I could listen to James all day
I loved James as Cromwell. Awesome
"Tha Tooders..." 🤣
Just finished watching the tudors and loved every minute of it
They should continue this series to Mary and Elizabeth reign.
I’m not normally bothered by historical inaccuracy in a show like this, cos that’s obviously not the point of it. But how they presented Cromwell’s involvement in the Pilgrimage of Grace drove me up the wall. It was Rich and Audley who presented the bill of dissolution to parliament, which the King fully supported. It’s _Cromwell_ who was against it. he didn’t want all the monasteries closed for a start, but he also opposed it because he thought it would _cause a rebellion_ .The king was apparently very indignant at Cromwell trying to frustrate the measure. And in the end Thomas had even voted against it in parliament. None of this ‘he told Henry the people wanted it… and Henry got blamed.’ Neither of those things are true😭 he flat out told the King it would lead to a revolt,, like he literally predicted the pilgrimage would happen. And I know it’s not his fault cos that’s what he’s been told happened, but Meyers is completely wrong with that here ahah
ALL the incredible actors who composed this show made a diamond out of it. All were amazing, intense, charismatic. I was literally immersed in the 16th century. Thanks to the person who made this show and who cast these actors.
New queen Anne Cleve come from Germany princess
A brilliant series that is not historically accurate but a compelling watch. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is outstanding as Henry.
The most amazing series I have ever seen!
The actor who played Cromwell did an excellent job
Yeah James Frain was excellent
Loved this series
Can never get tired of this show could watch it over and over
I really sad when he died! He just him mother. Same of me! Why he died?
James Frain was superb as Cromwell. His portrayal was intelligent, slippery, charismatic and ruthless. I enjoyed every moment he was on screen.
He is really good in Count of Monte Cristo (2002) also
I hate him.
I love love love Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Henry. X
Thomas Cromwell was the highlight of an otherwise only slightly above average season.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers 💖💖💖
Most of the historians agree that Henry VIII never said that Anne of Cleaves looks like a horse. It was just a rumor. Henry VIII was fascinated by free spirit women. But he could not handle them as his wife had them beheaded.
True because if the portrait was not correct Henry would have put the artist to death and he did not so.
I actually didn't cry when Jane died. I was glad. Henry VIII didn't deserve her and God just took her to leave him just what he wanted: the male heir. But not for too long.
I felt a lot more for Margaret Pole after reading about her youth in novels of The Cousins' War. Amazing
I wish there were more episodes per season. I love this show to this day.
So do I, I keep watching the dvds from time to time
All the characters was perfectly chosen in The Tudors. Henry VIII was not a reasonable person. He wanted absolute power. If I go through his biography I should hate him. And I hate Henry VIII in The Tudors. That is the absolute justification to the character. I also did not like Anne Bolyen. Historically Anne Bolyen was clever but not intelligent. The series also shows that. I also hate Thomas Cromwell. Historically he was very manupulative. I feel sympathy for Rober Aske. I feel so bad that I searched the net to see if it actually happened to him. All chosen actors for respective characters were just perfect. These actors actually reincarnated the historical characters on screen.
All of you are on here like “oh poor Cromwell” but he was keeping the money from the monasteries he was tearing down instead of into the charities or the king. Cromwell was Cromwell’s own demise.
He was a bad person. So I learned at school.
Oh you can be sure that he was Henry’s creature.
No? The income from the monasteries went to the king. There’s absolutely no way he wouldve let his minister take such high sums whilst getting none of it himself. Like there’s plenty of evidence it’s Henry who got the money, including the ludicrously expensive coastal defences he was building. And Cromwell _did_ try to use some of the money to set up educational foundations - he didn’t want all the monasteries dissolved, pushing for them to become colleges - as did others at court. literally the only person who wanted all the money to go to Henry, was Henry.
Meyers may not have looked like Henry but he delivered the essence. He was brilliant.
Exactly ! He's the main reason I got addicted to this show !
@@salifyanji2893 same
The best i've ever seen OOH MYY!!!
I can never watch the part where Seymour is made Viscount Beauchamp cause all I think of is the bloopers.
What bloopers? Looks like I missed something
Wolsey Moore and Cromwell were Henrys very loyal servantWolsey Moore and Cromwell were all executed (or going to be in Wolseys case) He regretted all three of their deathsHere's a thoughtStop killing your mates Henry! 😂😂
(And your girls)
Cromwell was nice when he first went in as a clerk, but once he had and taken Ann out of the way, so he could do whatever he wanted with the money rather than having that extra money go to King Henry and the schools.Ann & five innocent men were dead and Cromwell was a dirty guy! Cromwell new at the end when he was about to be executed that it was his pride and trying to be right up there equal with the King as what led to his death. I will admit that Cardinal Gardener did lie about things during his trial but there were many crooked things that Cromwell did.
@@montrelouisebohon-harris7023 but the money did go to the king. You think he wouldve let his minister have all that wealth whilst he got none of it? And Cromwell _did_ want some of the money to go towards creating colleges - he didn’t want all the monasteries dissolved - education generally was vastly important to him. Others at court wanted the same. It was _Henry_ who stopped that from happening, keeping the money for his own purposes. Also Cromwell didn’t want to be equal to the king? He made enemies like everybody at court did, compounded massively by his ‘low birth’. Classism and his reformist beliefs were big factors in his fall. Those like the duke of Norfolk or Bishop Gardiner just needed him to make a mistake, he finally did, and then they used trumped up charges to get him killed.
Thomas More didn’t deserve to die.
Things were never the same after Season 2 with the loss of Anne Boleyn and many of the characters I grew to like. Cromwell was really the last character from the old days, and it hurt to see him get butchered the way he did. The new, younger lineup just didn't have that same feel after that.
I liked Surrey a lot in the later seasons though.
Henry cavill was a great constant as well
True !
i was sad when he die. he change alot since season 3. sad he wont be in the new season
I think this is a great video, yet none of these comments are on the character that they are showing :(
I really liked Cromwell. After his death I missed him in the next episodes. Amazing show ♥
#bringbackbrad
He didn't deserve to die like that, or at all.
i hated him so much in the first season 💔 and i never realised the good man he is 💔💔 i teared when he died he died for the team 😭💔 he died but he will never be forgotten
I felt so sad for Cromwell :( he was so loyal to the king
How about Wolsey?
He was loyal to the king but he did take a lot of money from those monasteries and the King only got 10% of everything that Cromwell took after the Abbeys were destroyed. I felt bad for him at first but I didn't because he was the one that caused Ann Boely n to die for no reason!!!
@@montrelouisebohon-harris7023 I’m not sure that’s right. I know the show mentions Henry getting 10%, but i think that meant 10% of any bribes. the income from the monasteries themselves all went to the king. There’s no way Henry would’ve accepted so little a cut of those huge sums, and he ultimately had control over where it all went - the king squashed all later plans for money to go towards creating educational foundations, which Cromwell and other ministers at court had been trying to do
Henry VIII later regretted having him executed
Wolsey was a snake
That was a solid Luca Brasi reference.
Bellick is a legend
Hi guys, Here is a survey about an upcoming convention on "The Tudors" Please fill in the survey, it won't take more than 5 minutes ! docs.google.com/forms/d/1ILYQgyGItLtzeJXtBsnyNcZu7GD-kv29eBKazBFfsNI/viewform?usp=send_form Thanks
I cried like a bitch when he died what a hero RIP Bell<3
i teared as well 💔 like imma man like why would i even tear on such a thing but like brad is a hero i just feel bad that i hated him in the first seasons💔
He definitely redeemed himself in this last season, doesn't excuse the bad stuff he did in the last three seasons, the first two especially, but he went out a hero and a good guy, rest in peace Bellick
Jonathan Rhys Meyers @3:49 is a total idiot! Everything that Cromwell did was on Henry VIII's orders. Everything! From framing Anne Boleyn to the dissolution of the monasteries. Henry had driven England into the poor house with his terrible mismanagement of funds and his ridiculous ambitions to gain a foothold on the Continent by way of wasteful warfare. Henry needed money and the Catholic Church had it.
Interestingly enough, Jonathan Rhys Meyers is just like Henry Vlll in this, Always place the blame somewhere else. Never take responsibility for your actions.
Rhaegar Targaryen He also talked about Catherine Howard as "fucking useless" and you know that even if she wasn't cult and mature as Anne and the others if you do a real research on her you will find that actually she wasn't this silly vulgar girl they want to expose as such and enjoying sexualize her. She had a music teacher and even knew to write the basic, unlike most of the others in her condition who lived here with her step grandmother. She even used to send sheets and food to the prisoners.
+Annais Maia Agreed! I personally think all the wives of Henry VIII were too good for him and special in their own ways. C. Howard was so young and needed protection not exploitation. Some historians suggest that Queen Elizabeth was at Hampton Court and personally saw Catherine Howard racing to plead with the Tyrant for her life and that, along with Anne Boleyn's execution, is what set Elizabeth's mind toward never marrying.
I agree. Henry VIII was nothing more but a bloody paranoid tyrant who easily got rid of people loyal and true to him, ordered them to do nasty things against their will and beliefs. The lower classes suffered a great deal during his reign. His wives were truly too good for him. They all were nice women, each one with her own character. In these series I felt sorry for all the characters who lost their lives through execution or diseases except for villains like Thomas Calpeper and... the king himself.
Actually, I think what Rhys Myers said is accurate. Obviously, it's hard to completely know every little detail, but I think overall he's actually correct.
Bellick was a bitch all the series but he died like a hero
Bellick was one of my favorite. Probably top 3. It's a shame he didn't have a happy ending with a decent sum of money and beautiful women.
GAHHHHH SPOILERS OHMYGAWD... I didn't like Miguel THAT much... :l
When they put the badge on his chest, a shed a tear for this guy. Easily the most depressing moment of the series
Awww, I love him! Loved him as Cromwell and hated when they took him to the towers and beheaded him.
I absolutely hated bellick in the first season. I mean, admit it, the guy was an ass and i never thought he was gonna be such a big part of the series. Even in season 2 i hated him because he didn't really help anyone he was just being an ass to everyone and only thought about himself. Once he went to Sona i felt bad for him. he looked so weak. so apart from his season one, and he had emotions. really began to love this guy and hoped he wouldn't die even though i knew it would happen. So sad :(
