With each new song I am more and more convinced that Imaginaerum was last album, after listening to which I could say WOW! Unfortunately, after Imaginaerum there was sterile music, as if written according to a textbook, without musical experiments and new ideas (EFMB album is more borderline, and then it's even more boring). Sound of The Day Of... is smooth, mixing is perfect, but there is no emotion in it, there is no melody and interesting musical moves that Nightwish had on first 7 albums.

In fact, Tuomas was going to name that album "Imaginarium", but decided to change its name due to the fact that in 2009 the movie "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" by Terry Gilliam was released and Tuomas didn't want people to think that the album had any connection with that movie, especially since their own movie based on the album was planned to be released later - and I highly recommend you to watch it.

On first listen I thought “Dio, Rainbow? What am I hearing?” Then another person commented on the song and spared my frustration. “Stand Up ans Shout”, Dio.

Thanks for sharing your reaction to a song that gets better & better with each listen, which is something that defines greatness in songwriting. The composer, Tuomas Holopainen, has said that this song is his take against all the fear mongering that plaugues main stream media these days. It's a form of mind control to keep the masses of ordinary people in line with official narratives of the ruling class.

A bit of a new way to go for Nightwish, with the children choir being this much present,, Floor is doing some fast phrasing here to, something like she does in the song Shoemaker, kind off i think.but at same time still very Nightwish sounding,. This song is about leaders, who spread fear in people, religious, political all kind of leaders, they tell that if you dont do it like this, the end is near, and it all bad, but its a lie, the due date have passed many times in history already for these doomsday predictions, so life your life, dont let yourself fill up with fear.. Notice that Floor joins the kids choir at end and connect that to her charecter she is in video, she realize something during video, Toumas said so in a interview i watched.. I didnt read the book 1984 written by George Orwell, but the song got reference to that book i belive. At first listen i needed another listen, at 3th listen the song got me, and i started like the children choir, i actually think its a pretty good song, and something not heard like this from NW before, now i listened to the song many times! I do think Tuomas once again prove he is a master composer, who make lyrics to make you think, and make melodies fitting the theme of the song. This is not a Empuu shine song, there is heavy guitar rhytm in the middle section and end, but not the big Empuu solo, but i also think this song dosent need it, because the Children choir takes spotlight instead,.. The title the day off.. is missing telling what its the day off, so i think this is where you can put in the optimistic view of the song, as a listener, if you like to, and hear the song that way, the listener decide what its the day off. The original idea was this one to be 1st single, because it was a diffrent sound from NW people told Tuomas, this have to be a single, but then Tuomas decided it should be Perfume of the timelees, and this 2nd. I belive a 3th single will be out before album release, being last track on upcoming album, called Lanternlight.

Every song has its sides, this is not heavy but it gets better by listening lyricks 🤔👍

Great song and collaboration .What astonishes me is the fact that Band maid have only 610,000 subs and the Warning nearly 800,000 subs on their channels , considering the talent that they both have .They both started officially in 2013 and i would have thought that their subs would be in the millions by now .
