Hi - Help! Your opinion, could I use a UV resin to seal a rod guide wrap for a build instead of the traditional two-part epoxy? What do you think? Cheers
You say that the TRU zipper slides easily. I disagree. It does not slide easily. In fact you have to pull very hard to close it, especially when you're wearing it, it's very awkward to try and close it. Also, the net is not the easiest to get at. You've got to work pretty hard at it. I'll contact Fishpond to figure out how to get the zipper to close easier. Thank you for the video.
Too bad they completely forgot to update the strap by putting a spot for hemos like they did on all other packs.

I'm more than a newbie so this can be a stupid question but, what is the difference between hollow and fake hollow? I can't see it in the procedure 😅 Thanks for sharing, very cool video!
Good question Alfredo. When tying a “fake hollow” you’ll see that the technique includes actually tying back on top of the material (bucktail) and pinching it down after it’s been pulled back. Where as with a normal “hollow tie” the technique is to simply build up thread in front of it and push it backwards (not tying directly on top of the bucktail). How do you prevent that bead from slipping forward over time, opening the loop up and then the tail fouling on the front hook? I’m new to this style of rigging so I’m not sure how they work!

Hey Jonathan, Joe is using one of the sections of a hair stacker here. But you can use a hollowed out pen, thread spool, etc!

one the second reverse tie do you recomend shorter bucktail or is moving up the tie in enough t provide taper. You make is look easy but I know better. My saddle hackles suck I am going to use ostrich for tail

Hey! Thank you! The Squimpish “boutique blends” that this pattern is tied with have fibers in the 5”-8” range. The Squimpish “hair” is a little longer with 6”-10” fibers on average but do not include flash in the blends. Yes, give us a call or you can also place your order online.
