Do they need to have patient on antiplatelet therapy long term after??
had this done last week after i had cryptogenic stroke last (i.e: sudden vision loss for few minutes and then spontaneously resolve completely) last year.. i was put under general anesthesia(GA) ,had TEE x2 (1st to confirm n size measuring,2nd to confirm the placement of device) while under GA.the PFO size is slightly larger then seen drg my 1st TEE 6months ago (5mm vs 10mm)..Thank God,everything went well. post op,it was dizzy and felt groggy for 7 hours due to the sedation effects..The epigastric pain remains for 1 week likely due to the trauma of TEE ..the groin pain is minimal. now on double antiplatelet for 3 months.im already back to work safely.🙏
Wait so you went back to work after a week? How did it go? How do you feel? Having mine done on 24th Feb but with local anaesthetic
@@joselema85 how did yours go? I'm having it done Mon 14th with conscious sedation (wanted general)
I had this procedure 2 days ago, and I was nervous. I only had local anesthesia, so I was able to see the procedure until I decided to close my eyes. Thank you for posting
did you feel anything? i'm getting my closure in 2 days
@@Atlasremixes During the procedure, I felt a warm fluid inside my chest. After te procedure, I felt like I had a piercing, but maybe this was just psychological. All the best with your PFO-closure 👍🏾
@@ilciavo thank you so much❤️ but you didn't feel any pain, right?
@@Atlasremixes you only feel the pinch for the anesthesia, and afterwards the wound in the femoral vein until it heals. I was scared before the procedure, and they offered me something to relax. I send you lots of good vibes for your procedure 🙏🏽
@@Atlasremixes How did it go?
I had a PFO closure procedure but developed atrial fibrillation for the first time a few days after.
How is it going now? Thinking about doing it but not sure yet

From India, is it possible Mitra clip ? Anyway good lecture sir
Had mine done in May 2022. Was able to see the screen was they were doing it. My heart was feel like there was something in my chest. They had to keep asking me to lay still..but I wanted to see more of what they doing. The pain that was caused was in the end, as they pulled out the wires. I didn't feel them putting in the staple. The hard part was staying still and having to not do anything to would lead or cause blood clotting. Don't try to Cheat the System! Rest and let the PFO Closure do it work. You will See the Change and you will be glad your Dr. and you did it. Thank You Dr. Anouti.

What a bloody procedure really. I just had this done and thanks for showing this. I was under general and intubated. I thought it was going to be something a lot simpler for some reason. I think because I saw on some web sites that a person might even be partially awake for this? Maybe I had that wrong. Also, they found out my PFO was larger than it was said to be eight years ealier on a TEE and that my atrial spetal aneurysm was large. Additionally, they also found a small fenestrated ASD and then said they could not exclude a second one, but that there was no evidence of it after they installed a 30 mm Amplatzer occluder. The PFO was also a "tunnel" and there was shunting. This was not a very easy surgery for me (age 55 with Fibromyalgia as well.) Groin wound pain was intense and within two days I had a serious blood pressure drop (87/48 after I came to,) nausea, shortness of breath, fainting, drenched in sweat episode upon just waking up. It resolved on its own within some minutes. It was like something in my heart or my nervous system was trying to reset itself after something about all this. It really scared me. I resolved that if it happened again, I was going to call 911 and not the cardiac on-call PA as instructed. It has not recurred. I also was very tired and foggy-headed. I think I am finally feeling a bit more used to the Plavix. Today I still feel tired but almost back to some kind of normal energy level. Advice: Don't overdo things with the groin wound for over a week. All I did was walk a bit more and ended up limping around with pain going down my to another part of my leg for two whole days. The bruise got pretty large, which worried me and I had to call the nurse to make sure it wasn't spreading in a dangerous way as they described. Also, my regular 0xygen saturation is usually around 92-94 and now it's up to 95-97 in Colorado, so that's good. I feel like my heart is not pounding and racing as much.
Had it done yesterday
