Love what you
so cool! how does it work? can you change the column with a press of switch?
It's been some years since I've had it powered up, but yes in this example... The light automatically scans down one column. Press again to get it to automatically scan across your chosen row. Press again to make a choice. If you don't touch the switch after two or three scans of a row, it reverts back to scanning down the first column again (a way to correct a mistake).
incredible, i am so happy I found this documentary... i am going through the website now and I feel like I'm the happiest person in the world learning about all this. I hope I will find some way to be of help
Thank you. Colin was brilliant. And I'm sure you will find some way.
I saw Sasha Zenko (Cerebral Palsy Gaming) use to play his games.... I was totally blown away by it. I am so happy developers make software like this, people who have disabilities really need this. Thank you for making this interesting video about it
It feels like the blue side had an advantage in speed. Was that due to a timing thing or is it something different?
You're right. You can adjust the difficulty for either player to help balance game play. You can go much more pronounced than this too.
I loved this game on the Atari
I wish they would disable pc cross play.. this would fix a majority of cheating
Do you think the cheating is mostly coming from the PC side there?
@@OneSwitch yes definitely.. it’s called dma ( direct memory access) cheats they basically run the cheats from a stand alone p.c so the cheats are not detected on the main computer.. that’s how they bypass the anti cheats
@NJENVYXTC Ah, yes, I give a nod to that at 6:05. Very widespread do you think? Seemed expensive to me so I wondered how common it was.

А если купить 2 контроллера, то можно сделать, чтоб на одном работал левый стик, а на втором правый для обзора?
Yes you can set the two joysticks independently into any of 24 different modes.
@@OneSwitch благодарю. Тогда проще купить два и спокойно играть
@@dmitrii_target It would be two joysticks that you plug into 1x Sony Access Controller in this case. There are other means of doing this that could be cheaper.

Controller looks like ass
I could see that working as a pc simulation. The keyboard input would probably not be accurate in terms of key placement, but a custom controler that uses both xinput and hid inputs could be made to mimick the keyboard and sliders if people really wanted it to be in the correct layout. Someone would need to capture as many sounds from the unit as possible, using a pick up coil or by opening the thing up to build in an rca or similar output that would take the main sound output so it could be recorded. In terms of pattle ball sounds, all that would really need to be done is record a comprehensive gameplay by capturing either from the rca or headset jacks. This wouldn't actually be used in the simulation, but rather as a reference for how to design the sounds for that game since they aren't that hard to recreate.
You're right. Underway right now. We have the speech sounds recorded direct from a TSI Speech+ talking calculator. Three coders have expressed an interest in bringing it all to life on a PC. Hopefully it will happen. More here: forum.audiogames.net/topic/52729/developer-needed-to-help-preserve-audio-gaming-history-from-1977/
@@OneSwitch I just viewed the forum topic and grabbed the calculator samples. If I knew anything beyond the blastbay game toolkit in terms of programming, I'd try to make one sine these games don't seem like they would be that complex. The trouble is, since the BGT engine is old, many people including it's developer frown upon it's use now adays, even though for simple stuff like this it's perfectly adiquit for the task. Some people even go so far as to really get annoied at people who use it, and it is for good reason since compiled versions of bgt games, in other words exe files, aren't signed at all so anti virus programs flag them which would rightly make normal non tech savy users unlike myself become suspicious and delete them. Of course I could decide not to compile it and just keep it running in source form all the time, but somebody went all over me for trying to have that idea, saying that I should write games in a modern main stream language that will allow standard installable programs to be made that won't get flagged unless you know exactly what you are doing and open up possibly a security hole in your system to get around it. That's not even mentioning the other reason that avrage users shouldn't be expected to run a game or program from source with the right sdk and other stuff installed, but that is a completely different thing all together. Sure I want to learn a main streem language, but things like python, c++, etc are surely able to do it, but the learning curve is too high. Even audio game devs that have made the switch to python in the past are moving away from it now sometimes.

I know it was posted a long time ago but how does the remote button for the rhino fire work?
It's accessibility switch adapted. I can send you some guidance if you email but it's at your own risk of course.
@@OneSwitch Ill search how to do it. Thanks 😁
How accurate is this when playing and can you map the buttons to the triggers?
Those old sticks have a bit of play in them around the deadzone. Definitely a budget option if you can get them. You can't easily remap through the XAC. It's quite limited in that way.
Can the joystick be set as W,A,S,D keys and if possible can you have 2 joysticks so 1 for movement and 1 for look/aim? looking to play fps/3rd person games on pc
GCM XAC system can do this from the off. JoyToKey can do this too. You just have to set it up. I could probably help if you e-mailed.
Exactly what I'm trying to do for my grandson. We first tried to follow Colin Furze remote which became complicated with mechanical actuators, etc. I'm and electronics guy so I figured there must be an easier way.
Definitely. Feel free to drop me an email and I can send more info.
does the main on/off switch you added just turn on the battery power (that seems like an easy way to do it) since it seems you jam the activator switch on (simple that way). The switches in the gun seem to both be SPDT, so I was wondering if they need to be double-throw since I would like to be able to easily disconnect the remote and just use the gun as it was originally. Does the main trigger switch only need a single contact or do you know if there is a significant reason for double throw? I already have single pole single throw push button in a housing that I could use.
@@charlespatt My mod doesn't allow you to use the unit in the original way. I remove the little orange trigger plate, and cut the black dome top off the momentary switch, then physically refit it upside down so it's constantly jammed on. I then have a SPST on/off switch break the power (from the bottom battery terminal) and have that run in series to the 3.5mm TRS switch socket, that completes the circuit to the red power supply to the smaller motor that feeds the darts. To use it, you have to have the main motor constantly whirring away, you prime the first dart with the accessibility switch. Once you've fired one dart, they all fire out very responsively after that. There may be much better ways, but this way does work.
This is a really great piece and it's really impressive to see how early accessibility endeavours started already. On the other hand it's kinda sad it took until the recent years to become kiiinda more mainstream, but let's for now stay positive: it's really cool to see some of the old tools and how they improved or were adapted over time. So, thanks for this very interesting history lesson. One sad bit of irony: this video only has CZcams's auto-generated subtitles, no proper human-checked ones. Especially on an accessibility video, that's really kinda strange, so, maybe that can be added at some point? Thank you for this piece!
Thanks, and I agree it's taken/taking longer than it could have. Subtitles on my jobs to do list. 👍

Think it was this: www.overlander.co.uk/nimh-batteries/6v-5s/panasonic-eneloop-aa-2000mah-6v-flat-nimh-battery.html - with a JR connector cable wired to the same positive and negative points on the PCB that the existing battery connectors led to.

I like what you can do in the settings app, but I wish you could do more.
Would love to see just a regular latch.
Would be nice to have a activation timer. No matter how long you press the switch (brief tap or long press) its active for a set period of time.
Would be nice to have a two button toggle arrangement so you could do a walk forwards button.
Always nice to have more. If you add a (currently elusive) Titan Two, all of this is very possible and much more.
Love the Titan two, but if you have to buy one you might as well get the XAC and a Magic NS for more joystick options and X1/X2.
