CINEMATIC TOKYO - 4K short film 2024 with the FUJIFILM XT4, 35mm F1.4 and 16-80 F4 - travel VLOG
Hey guys! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Joshua. I am a Singaporean lofi producer, guitarist and worship musician. I'm mainly a Fujifilm shooter and have been into photography for awhile. I decided recently to try my hand at really pushing the XT4 to its limits and make a cinematic short film (inspired by @teemu.mp4 , @cinemabryce @JasonZhao ) with an "every frame a picture" kind of mindset. I had the time recently to take a short solo trip to Tokyo for a week and really get lost in the city, and this was the perfect chance. It was just me, a close friend, my XT4 mounted on a capture clip, and a 10L bellroy bag (@snapsbyfox thanks for the recommend!)
My philosophy in shooting and editing is all about capturing the vibe and mood of where I'm at, and my intention in putting together the short film is to allow the viewer to experience the same way that my spirit was moved as I'm there and in a particular headspace. Strangely, I always start with choosing the music first when editing !
Big thanks to my wife for allowing me to do this, and Colin for being a great travel companion !

Beautiful man!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️…. I’m also going to buy fuji xt4 in a month or so …. But I’m not sure if I should go for 18-55mm or the 16-80 lens …. Can you please help me on this?!😁 …. I also want to do videography with it mainly
Hey shiv! Thanks so much for the nice comments ! From what I’ve read both are great lenses that have image stabilisation. Nonetheless the XT4 already has IBIS so it shouldn’t matter too much. I am very happy with my 16-80 for video! The only advantage the 18-55 would have is it has a faster aperture. Therefore it may be better for low light. I find the 16-80 still performs well at dusk and with some steady hands

I’m confused. This isn’t “live looping”. It’s just sequencing synth chords and percussion samples will playing a guitar. I’d call that jamming or, like, y’know, guitar vibin’ with a groovebox or whatever. 😅
I suppose it depends on whether you define live looping as only audio looping ? Programming midi in a live loop way as here could also be a kind of live loop

i have no idea what your doing here , the tracks doesn’t have built in speakers right? where’s the sound coming from ? also are you recording into the zoom from the tracks is that possible ? i don’t have that zoom though i have the H1n i think cheers pal
Hey man ! You are right there are no speakers. I'm listening to the whole thing via the headphone out (you can see a cable going up to my head). Yes I am recording audio out from the tracks straight into zoom!

Thanks Robert! I have never used the EP133 unfortunately can't really comment. So far the circuit tracks is great! It cannot sample however. If you want sampling capabilities get the circuit rhythm instead!

Hey Desmond! Actually I believe this is one of the default sound packs! I think I just tweaked the settings and made sure to roll off some of the high end with the master EQ :)

Hey cloud ! The chords for the bridge and chorus are the same throughout ! Which are F, G, Am and C. In the video I'm playing the barre chord versions except C For the riff it's a little tricky to describe ! But it's essentially the same repeating pattern with the bass note alternating between C and A !
