Porsche 914 - 6 restoration - interior Re-trim - Episode 7
The car’s interior has been retrimmed by the very talented Marine Dufraisse (Bob) the owner of Dufraisse Vehicle Upholstery www.dufraisse.co.uk/ who has been tasked with retrimming the Porsche seats, dash, door cards, and carpets.
We thrashed out a design concept that included a contrasting vertical grey stripe that would run vertically down the seat inserts, door cards, and the dash.
This video follows Bob creating her magic and Olly showing us the finished job.

7 litre V8 Dax AC Cobra engine build

We were recently tasked with rebuilding the 7-litre V8 engine on this Dax AC Cobra replica after one of the lifters got seized and mullered the whole valve train! So Daz Hammer Engine Solutions has rebuilt the engine with a complete engine overhaul, including new sleeves and pistons. We pick up the Porsche 914 - 6 restoration at the engine builders where Daz has fully rebuilt the 6-cylinder engine with new domed pistons for a higher compression ratio, new high lift cams, new camshafts, shaft bearings, and new timing chains. With the raptor done, the guys have also started to refit the car starting with the wiring loom and brake lines. Any areas of the wiring loom that have needed to be fixed have and the rest has been cleaned and restored. The suspension, chassis parts, and brakes have also been refreshed and refitted to the car. Hi Buddy, no those are the customer's chosen wheels and are original to the car. He is going for a pretty stock looking 914-6 is it is a genuine 914-6
Didn't see the GT stiffeners in the rear or internal longs and firewall... Also why not steel GT flares?
Hi buddy it is a genuine 914-6, not a GT so the customer wanted to keep it close to stock, with a few choice subtle upgrades.

Les pièces vont être très dur à trouver vue que dans vos fermés elles sont toutes désossait on roule à l origine ici pas de tuning cher nous l origine c est un moteur 4 l pas intéressant il faut minimum le 2L turbo et en 16 s c est la voiture la plus rapide du circuit ❤
The rear should be about half inch lower atleast, stance is wrong, and it will effect handling balance aswell. Also u widened rear but not front, this will also result in worst handling balance, even the black series with wider rear they gave it a wider front. This only wider rear setup will cause understeer.

Any additional structural steel going in to stiffen the chassis to more modern standards?
No idea how you can be that critical of the existing ducktail options and then land on... that. The proportions and radiusing of the 997 Sport Classic ducktail is similar to the original Carrera RS ducktail. This looks like someone cut a piece of particle board, didn't even bother rounding out the corners, and just painted it.

That hole for the antenna is on the incorrect side (the hole should be on the driver's side) so nicely done fixing that dealer shortcut/mistake.

Believe me most cars have parts from other car manufacturers they don't make everything in house, and thats talking standard cars. When you take a fully custom machine like this Renault 5, then who cares? You use the best parts available for the car. Nothing is standard on this car so its not built for the purist anyhow.

Hi buddy, have you managed to see the rest of the episodes and see how the car turned out? Because it was an abandoned project Paul the owner did manage to buy the car for a decent price originally. Despite it being a £100k build he has recently sold the car for a very decent profit.
