Thank you for clear, concise tips delivered without a bunch of mindless jabbering...😁 Now, I seem to always be trying to stencil PART of a vertical surface with stencils that are bigger than the area I want to stencil... So I'm thinking I need 5o practice the dry brush techniques... Layering, and maybe get the repositionable "spray" adhesive. I bought some adhesive for stencils that has a sponge -like applicator and that was a bit of a shyt show. Well, I guess I'm learning..😂😂😂 if I get better that is. Sigh. Good tips!

HI, First of all, THANK YOU for this video. I've been tie-dying for 40+ years, and I would like to start stenciling/painting OVER some of the shirts without getting into the whole screen printing thing. I plan on tying the shirts to leave a round 'logo' area, and doing simple things like dog, cat, people's names, etc... the logo area would be dyed light blue, yellow, and other lighter colors using the standard procion dyes. I'm looking at Dharma's site (dharmatrading) because that's where I get my dyes, and they have a variety of fabric paints. I got a headache trying to read through all of the reviews. Can I ask you which ones I should get for this? Thank you in advance, Deb at Heavenly Daze Tie-Dye (just google us and hit 'images' 🙂)

What brand spray adhesive you recommend? Aleenes was very globby and the spots stayed on my project after removing the stencil!

Hi. Thanks for the tips. I haven’t an artistic bone in my 62 yr old body, but I do like to sew…I recently discovered stencils to embellish some of the bags I make. It’s been amazing to find I can do this! But any help I can get is most welcome. Cheers from England xxx

I'm trying to figure out what adhesive to use that doesn't leave a residue on the fabric when I'm done. I've tried Aleene's tacky spray all-purpose adhesive and 3M's general purpose spray adhesive and they both left residue on the fabric that did not come out with washing. Any advice?

Great tutorial! I'll be stenciling two Adirondack chairs I painted a few weeks ago. I'll be using exterior acrylic paint so it won't be as thick. But I'll be mindful of dry brush (less is better) technique. All great points, learned a lot and I'm ready now to start my project. Let the stenciling begin!😊
