Ethylamine is soluble in water whereas aniline is not. Explain. #amine #hydrogenbond
zhlédnutí 846Před 4 měsíci
Answer: Ethyl amines forms hydrogen bonding with water and hence it is soluble. In aniline there is no hydrogen bonding due to presence of hydrophobic benzene ring.
Aniline does not undergo Friedel-Crafts reaction. Why? #amine #organicchemistry #ncertsolutions
zhlédnutí 1,8KPřed 4 měsíci
Aniline is a Lewis base due to lone pair of electrons on nitrogen. The Lewis acid AlCl3 used as catalyst in Friedel- Craft reaction forms salt with aniline. The salt formed acts as a deactivating group for electrophilic substitution reaction. NCERT Questions #amine #ncert #organicchemistry
Methylamine in water reacts with ferric chloride to precipitate hydrated ferric oxide. Explain
zhlédnutí 670Před 4 měsíci
Methyl amine is basic in nature. When dissolved in water it produces OH- ion by accepting H ion from water. When ferric chloride is dissolved in water, Fe3 ion reacts with these OH- ions to form hydrated ferric oxide. Why? #amine #ncert #chemistry
