After my 12 years of NPD abuse and all of the healing I had to do afterwards, black night of the soul, childhood wounds, codependency, etc., I understood why I had to go through all of that. I am so much stronger now. I always repeat Eckhart Tolle to myself when dealing with toxic people or behaviors “everyone is operating at their current level of awareness”. It doesn’t excuse bad behavior, but it helps me understand more and have, not compassion really, but understanding. Love to you!!!

Spot on. It has been 2 years battling my heart as he ghosted me and slid right into another relationship without even breaking up with me. We were together 2 years. 4 years and I am solid around him. I see the broken man as well as his inner child. I was left with no choice - that is correct.
