How you doing?, very perfect vlog. Sutter's! 😲
FYI....Major Walter H. Saxton, USAF Ret., (deceased) built this cannon as a replica for Fort Sutter. It was fired daily until x-rays of the barrel showed cracks. The Russian writing that was cast into the breach of the cannon, says "St. Petersburg". There were two identical cannons, but one was lost in the 1860's on the Sacramento River during flooding, as it was being transferred from Fort Ross to Sutter's Fort. The other twin cannon rests today, at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, in their museum. The one that is fired daily is an exact copy/replica, of that Russian Cannon, taken from measurements of its twin at Mare Island... Major Saxton, made this cannon using his drawings, measurements, building a wood pattern, complete with hand carved Russian script on the breach...pressed the wood pattern into a large sand mold, and cast the cannon at the Sacramento Iron Works, in the early 1970's.
he also flew 2 of his own flags one was a 13 star us flag with and mexican eagle the the year 1840 below the he also had another flag that. he took Mexican civil flag and put a red star 5 pointed star in the white strip during the bear flag revolt.

Only a very few wagons came with the very expensive blow up inflatable life preservers that enabled the wagon to just float all the way down the Columbia river.
