ประเทศไทย มีกฎหมายห้ามล่า ฉลาม บางชนิดครับ แต่ ฉลาม บางชนิด กฎหมายก็ไม่ได้ห้าม ล่า เพื่อนำมารับประทานได้ เนื่องจากมีจำนวนที่เยอะ ส่วนครีบฉลาม ที่ขายตามร้านอาหาร เป็นครีบนำเข้าเป็นส่วนใหญ่ หรือถ้าครีบเล็ก ก็จะนำมาจากทางใต้ของไทย ที่เป็นฉลามที่กฎหมายไม่ได้ห้ามล่า ร้านอาหารที่ขาย หูฉลาม ที่ไม่มีไปทั่วในหลายพื้นที่ เนื่องจาก มีราคาที่แพง เหมือนกับ ร้านขายกุ้งมังกร ก็จะมีไม่มาก ด้วยราคาต้นทุนที่สูง จะถามว่า อาหารจาก ฉลาม เป็นอาหารประเภทอื่น ในไทยมีขายไหม มีครับ เช่น ฉลาม ผัด ฉ่า เป็นการนำเนื้อฉลามมาผัดกับซอสที่มีรส หวาน เค็ม เผ็ด ที่โด่ดเด่นด้วยกลิ่นสมุนไพร ที่เข้ากับอาหารทะเล เป็นต้น เนื่องจากนเื้อฉลามมีรสชาติที่จืด จึงต้องใช้การปรุงรสที่เข้มข้นเพื่อชูรส ครับ ฉลามจึงไม่เป็นที่นิยมในการรับประทาน แถมขั้นตอนการ แล่ ก็ยากด้วย ฉลามมีแอมโมเนีย สูง
