K-nipex. Pronounce the K. They're German. I bought the Preciva octagonal crimping tool. I think they're excellent. I use them for making power cables and loudspeaker cables.
Stop saying “almmmmm”
I used to be in the never shocked camp. I was vacuuming out a metal gatbage can/burn barrel with the rigid and got a huge shock. Ill use my festool next time.
Just got this thing as a set with the TID to replace my makitas that are around 12 years old. I would say that I do prefer the ergonomics of makita's impact more than the TID but the TPC18 a huge step up. Much quieter at max speed and having 4 different speed ranges is a nice addition. The gearbox shift can be a bit tricky though... It gets stuck in between gears sometimes if you slowly shift gears. The box it comes in is also really nice. Hopefully this set lasts as long as my makitas if not longer!
The 3M Sander is a piece of Junk. Numerous complaints about it getting hot, shutting off and mine won't even turn on. If I have 5 hours use on mine that would be a lot. I always used the dust collection. Junk. Numerous complaints!
I have this saw. Build quality, handling anc cut quality is absolutely top notch. People who complain about the limited cut capacity don't get what it is made for. But of course, you always want that little extra. Me too. But if you did, the saw would become that generic size of all the others, which is heavier and still limited. :) I also have the Hikoki "similar" saw that you mention in the video, also dual bevel slider with the same blade size. Both ordered from Japan. I can honestly not tell which is my favourite. They are both superb but I think I prefer the Makita for the absolute tiny package and the quality feel of the Makita edges out the Hikoki by the smallest margin. The Hikoki extends the versatility with a longer slide capacity with a minimum of weight penalty and as such is probably the "golden compromise" in this class / type of saw. But this class of saw - highest quality, highly portable mini slider/dual bevel miter saw - probably has no competition outside of the two. Cutting oak trim and small pieces for furniture leaves a silky smooth cut with both saws and within the cutting capacity of the saw it does not struggle with oak. With the aluminium blade I cut small pieces of Corian and again, saw just cuts smoothly and the cut quality it top notch with virtually zero blade marks in most material. For the workshop it is always a pleasure to use and the precision of the Makita and the Hikoki keeps me from getting a Kapex. The point of the Makita is the portability and that is perhaps less important in the workshop but having the Makita on a little shelf, out of the way, and being able to easily grab it and put it on the workshop table is awesome. If they release the 40V version in Europe I expect it to sell really, really well.
Totally worth the swap... just buy tools as you need them... once you have 4 or 5 batteries its fairly cheap to accumulate the tools over time.
Everything I’ve ever ordered from tool curve has been top notch. Keep up the good work.
Great video..!!! Thank you. (Measurements are on the bottom just flip it... )
When making a video either set the camera to be stationary or get someone to hold the camera while you demonstrate , the camera Movement makes this video not easy to watch. 🤦♂️
Learn your facts before you push the record button. A lot of guesses and chancing in this video. Please learn your facts and stop bluffing viewers.
Is your company still doing business, @ToolCurve?
Pretty sure the CT15E has an anti-static hose too (it should say "AS" on it, i just doesn't have the braiding on it.
Can you use any standard can you use any standard size blade or do you have to use Makita only
How mean price
A tripod would be nice here.
What is the cut depth capacity at 90°? Spec says it'll only cut 46mm but my trim saw with 165mm diameter blade cuts 55mm. Surely this saw cuts more than 46mm?
I used a kärcher vac at my company... The job was to remove very fine dust from an air dryer. I got shocked around 20x.... Never doing that again...
I just bought the Festool CT 36 E AC along with the Planex LHS 2 225 EQI-Plus, DTS 400 REQ-plus sander and the RTS 400 REQ orbital sander. I have just learned more information abut the hose and conections that come stock with my dust extractor i belive it is the D36 hose, solid black. from my understanding, the hose that comes stock is specifically designed for the Planex LHS 2 225 EQI-Plus drywall sander. does this mean I need to buy a different hose for the RTS and DTS sanders? is there a different end attachment I need to hook-up to the stock hose? would you recommend to the adapter or a new hose
Interesting in the smaller miter saw ,still available?
Fantastic. I can finally use my Makita sander
Can you use it without a vacuum bag?
Awesome review! I just used my Makita 1219L for the first time and after a few cuts the sawdust was all over the saw! I hooked up a small shop vac to see if it would help control the dust and it did. Based on your review I will be buying the CT15 Mini because it looks like it will do everything that I want it to do better than a shop vac! I really like your tip on the Hose Garage and I’ll see how much it costs. Thanks for the great review from Northern Ontario. Oh and I liked and subscribed 👍
Had a Makita LS 1018 L worst saw I ever bought. Makita customer service is non existent. No more Makita hence.
What is the difference between KAPEX KSC 60 EB 5,0 I-UG-SET and 5,2 I-UG-SET?
Where are you seeing those? 5.0 and 5.2 would normally refer to the batteries. UG is likely the UG cart. I'm not seeing any reference to a saw + battery + cart combo. Saw + batteries + charger + systainer, yes.
I sent you a message on Etsy...... I was try to ask if you had the adapters for the Makita 12 in 40V miter saw GSL04M1
Hello nice videos... Do you guys have the Makita 12 inch 40v miter saw hose adapter..... I looked on your site did not see it
Good review brother. This is the saw I decided on and will be my next tool. Based on all my research this saw is outstanding, and beautiful also in my opinion. Thanks
Maybe im missing something but the router itself isn't supported until you're on the workpiece. and well... you can't plunge. If you come in from the edge you're not going to be at 90 degrees unless you spend a Lot of time making an identical 'sacrifical' piece.. thats why they don't show you the product in use.. and if they do show they don't show the entrance into the cut its always off camera.....
Site of Utility rack can't be found 😢
Please make an updated video. I recently purchased a ct15E. The description noted that it comes with a new anti-static hose. When I received it I was disappointed. I started to do some research and have found out it is anti-static. It does not have the braided sleeve. I’ve noticed it has caused a lot of confusion among the community, according to some peoples posts in different forums.
I bought mine on eBay I also have 7 1/2” an 2-10” 18 volt all good
Where did you buy this? Does it have any "slop"?
Do you make an adapter for a aircat sander ?
How do you operate the right bevel? I see it advertised as dual bevel but couldn’t figure out how to right bevel a display model
Exactly what I wanted to know...if my Dewalt sander and Freud biscuit joiner would hook to the hose! Very hard to watch though, hooking camera to a tripod would want me to watch more of your videos.
The saw will run with one battery, but reduced power
can you remove the vac funnel attached to the head of the sander or is it permanently fixed?
You didn’t say anything about the bag !?! I’d love to hear your take.
I wish the 3M model had a shorter vac connector like the Mirka. Sometimes it can get in the way when you're sanding curved surfaces
Any thoughts on the KSC 60 now thats its out? Still stay with the makita 40v or are you going festool? From what I can tell the festool is around 10lbs lighter. The makita might have more blade options. Festool might have battery power issues in the long term. I dont care about price. Just quality.
Just got mine in the mail. It has an additional clamp. What it for?
Amazing video, my friend, you cover so many important details. Furthermore mention that you can easily cut your hand on the corner edge of those guide rails, so the caps are critical for many reasons , including your good point about scratching trucks!
I really hate that the top handle locks is :(. I loved the 2nd generation.
Had many 7-1/2” over years only problem is table wearing out after 5-10 k cuts
Thanks
What's the Wight on it ?
Too bad that router couldn’t take it three-quarter straight bit
The version shown in the video is an older model. They now make one with the same range as the Knipex 0.08 to 16mm. The model number is CP80001 (without ferrule) and CP94120 (with ferrule). They wrote SO 16-6on the crimping for reference.
1:42 Put that in your miter saw and cut the bend end off.
