Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge - Tallgrass Vista
TALLGRASS VISTA
POWER ART DESIGN COMPETITION
ARMSTRONG-DOUGLASS PARTNERS
THE BECK GROUP
The inspiration for our entry is a serene image of wind blowing across the tall prairie grass that once covered the North Texas area. Specifically, our entry consists of a forest of tall sail-like elements that will evoke images of prairie grass waving back and forth in the breeze. The "grass blades" will vary in height from 40 feet to 80 feet - a grand scale that will anchor the western landing of the Margaret Hunt Hill (MHH) Bridge and will be highly visible from downtown Dallas, I-35, and I-30.
Commuters on the MHH Bridge, as well as pedestrians on the nearby Continental Bridge, will experience tranquil views of grass blades swaying organically in the breeze. The power substation will be mostly screened, but not entirely - elements will appear and disappear as the grass blades move. The swaying, green grass blades will also be symbolic of the movement within Texas to generate and distribute clean energy.

Amazing! Does this fountain exsist in real life?
I live close by there, should be interersting once its setup.
thumbs up if ESD is BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Ascension College?
First two scenes are really impressive (first one especially) -- the lighting and slight camera shake make them hard to identify as CG.
Cool!!
lol
go falcons!!!!! (ESA)
the music makes me depressed but i love the model...at the begining its aw esome
There's more construction going on there than that. I don't know if you consider the "W" a high or mid-rise, but isn't there supposed to be like a real high rise being built over there? Like 60 or 70 stories?
i hope its nice
to bad their not going have it done before 2010
i go to that school, umm, i hope its done b4 i grqduate
thats gonna be bitchin.....if they actually do it something.
