I love Luis Van Gaal. I loved his character, he come to United a bit past his prime. The right time for Van Gaal to have become United Manager would have been when Ferguson planned to retire in 2002. Van Gaal was easilly up there with Ferguson and Del Bosque at Real Madrid. Ferguson u-turned and the rest is history. Van Gaal proved he was a winner when he won the Champions League with Ajax and took Bayern to a final. Hes won trophies at some top clubs and was way ahead of everyone else when he managed Barcelona. As I say he should hage got the United job in 2002. By the time he went to Manchester United in 2014 the game had changed and i think United should have gone for a younger Coach/Manager. Van Gaal was the right man for Manchester United but his time had past. Van Gaal will go down as one of the best of all time and im pleased that he won a trophy in England as he's proven time and time again he can win anywhere.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but i believe had Van Gaal been given 2 more seasons at Man United, he would have had a lot of success. His system and methods needed a bit more time. Same way Klopp and Pep both took about 3 seasons to get their teams where they are now.
