I have 2 and right now have puppies!! They are amazing dogs, so loving and loyal. Best dogs I've ever had. But find a reputable breeder, too many people care only about the $$ and not the dogs health

Don’t like this video at all! Way too encouraging for ignorant dog shoppers to get a big fluffy dog they can’t handle. This is a serious working breed that needs to be respected not destroyed by becoming popular like all the other breeds we Americans have already wrecked. This irresponsible video doesn’t mention that this is the most abandoned breed in the USA % wise.

Beautiful and probably one of the most capable breeds out there. And maybe 1% of dog owners have the skill and training to manage one. These dogs have some of the strongest willpower and drive I have ever seen. IMHO this is a working breed, and not necessarily a good house pet.

I had the good fortune to know a German Shorthair Pointer. Rocky was a wonderful dog, very friendly and so very smart. He could understand many words, we took to spelling things if we didn't want him to know what was going on. He went on long walks in the woods several times a day, lots of energy. There was a pool but he would not swim. Very sad when he got sick and passed, I will always remember Rocky.

Pointer is a misnomer. As indicated in the video, it is an all purpose hunting dog who can not only point, but retrieve - on ground and in the water - and trace an injured animal.

Having owned them for some 40 years the comment about proper socialization is spot on otherwise they can become a real handful when it comes to controlling them. Keep in mind that they are a very independent breed, extremely smart and, at the same time, hard-headed. And they shed a lot consistently. If you want someone to play ball with, a Pry is not it. Try and you will get a look that basically says - You threw it and if you want it, go get it. OTOH they are loyal almost beyond comprehension. Great with children and other pets. They have incredible hearing and sense of smell and they BARK a lot. In an enclosed space, say your living room, it can actually be painful. But that is how they 'protect'. First they warn an approaching predator to back off, and if that doesn't work, all hell can literally break out.

I have a Pyr/border collie mix, 73#….not biddable like my previous BCs….she’s moody, independent, tolerates everyone/everything w/grace/dignity. She is mentoring my Malinois/Anatolian mix in ways that I could not have conveyed! She is my emotional support animal….i am so lucky to have gotten them from our local shelter!! Someone’s throw away dogs are my protectors, hiking buddies, best friends.

Thanks for this upload! Perfect timing! A woman told me yesterday to get retractable leads for my two chihuahua's and her dog was getting tangled up with my two and almost knocked the women off of her feet and she had to let go of the handle. Absolute nightmare and annoying. Now I have a sturdy lead with a double attachment for two little dogs and they walk perfectly beside me.

I can highly recommend a bulldog for a pet. They are loving, gentle and brilliant with little kids. As far as exercise, I’d only walk my dog for 10 minutes. They’re not an agile dog. They tire easily. So, if you’re thinking of buying one of these amazing dogs, you won’t be disappointed. They do snore, though. Because of how their snouts are shaped. I had my bully a little over 12years. He was my protector and my best friend. ❤
