I think Valve are trying to make cs2 more like league and valorant with franchising the sport (with removing the open qualifiers), where teams have to pay for the top spots, which if they are actually trying to make a reality is a huge mistake. They saw how much money RIot are making (Misfits sold their spot in the LEC for around 40-45 million dollars 2 years ago) and will justify it by saying how the prize pool is going to grow that way.
