Maasai House Filled with Baby Animals - Built Only From Sticks and Dung - Full Build
zhlédnutí 273KPřed měsícem
The Maasai traditionally live in houses made from a form of wattle and daub, completely covered with dung from their herds of cattle. Although traditions are rapidly changing, we found in a remote corner of the Maasai Mara one family who still live a completely traditional way of life. The house is divided into compartments and each has a special purpose, one for calves, one for lambs, one for ...
Traditional River Hut from New Guinea - (Used in the Old Days by Cannibal Hunters).
zhlédnutí 45KPřed rokem
The Asmat people lived a fierce and deeply spiritual life on the banks of the many rivers that cover their lowland homestead in the coastal areas of West Papua. To avenge a deceased relative a member of a warring village might be killed, and indeed ceremonially eaten in order to take their powers. The hunt might see a small war party travelling for days in a dug out canoe, stopping on the banks...
Amazing Millipede House of West Papua - Built from the Forests - Rumah Kaki Seribu

An incredible house from the Arfak region of West Papua. The house has evolved to fit to the very steep mountainsides as the many legs can all be adjusted in length to form a level platform. It is built almost entirely out of young saplings, much easier to fell with simple stone tools than the large forest trees. The traditional house has completely disappeared within the last few years, althou...

The Gabbra in Southern Ethiopia are nomadic pastoralists who live in a harsh arid region where camels are essential to their livelihood. Many are now settled and we were very fortunate to find one of the few groups who still had the knowledge to move their beautiful mat covered huts using specially trained camels. However, it had been a while since anyone had made a move so the camels were not ...

Fisherman's House Made from Nothing But Leaves! The Turkana of Northern Kenya

Tucked away in the far north of Kenya live a group of women in such a harsh landscape that the only readily available building materials are the large leaves of the doum palm. The frame of the house is made from the leaf stalks (petiole) which have a natural curvature that fits to the dome of the house. The fan palm fronds are bundled together to make the outer cover. The rope is made from shre...

Survival depends on working together as a team. After staying in the wooded taiga for two months they start to migra...

I’ve been enjoying your content for a while- thank you. I was surprised by the more judgmental tone in the video captions. This channel has done a great job of being more objective and educational and these captions were a bit disappointing. Wishing you well and thanks for the content.

Love to seee these organic arquitecture , native people building up their houses, how they used to, not with modern industrialized material. Anyone wanting to film or see, could go to the Amazonian region in Brazil, native people still building up their huts and communal houses with local material.
