He was the voice in The Sons of the Pioneers, I loved hearing him sing & watching him act❤
This is when they made good movies with real actors. 90% of the crap they put out today is pure trash. Cursing, sex, no morals no real story line anymore just action.
The Sons of the Pioneers were so talented.😊
Hard to believe this is Festus from Gunsmoke!
The group used to be called Shep Fields and his Rippling Rhythm. I have some of the old 78s.
The officer with the eye patch is Peter Ortiz a Marine Colonel in WWII and holder of two Navy Crosses!
Ken Curtis has an amazing voice. It's just fantastic!
"MATHEW, YOU AINT GONNA BELIEVE THIS , BUT THAT THAR FESTUS CAN SING ! "
sure don't look like Festus Hagen does he?
Beautiful ❤
Beautiful singing!
Versatility as an actor not always f festus and that singing the same hic or city greatness.
I prefer his singing over Roy Rodgers and Gene Autry.
Anyone see him in "the Killer Shrews"?
Very very nice....
Love irish music 😊😊 well i am irish 😊
Good old Irish rebel song. Was actually written in 1916 during the Easter Rising but John Ford (son of Irish immigrants) liked it enough to use it in a movie set much earlier during the Indian Wars...
Hopefully she told Trump, “ let’s not talk about religion or politics.”
One of my favorite Actors 😃😃😃👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
What silly laid back fun, just what we need for our over angst about this crazy world we have made.
You are just wonderful . Thank you cowboy 🤠 ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Would like young children to see this movie of O Hare & John Wayne to help them understand what is a woman & what is a man
What a song! What a crooner! What a movie!
FANTASTIC FESTUS
He sang a song in the quiet man⚡️
Love to hear him Sing 😊 Love watching him on Gunsmoke 😊
I like Mickey Gillies version better
Festus!
Love that quick cut from medium long shot to medium closeup!
The song and Lyrics were written around 1916 and is about the uprising that happened at 5he same time!! The fenians were formed around 1860 so I'll give you that.. there is and was no need for Hollywood to re write and fuck up Irish history, its still happening today under the opressionof the Catholic church now instead of the British goverment!!
I knew Ken and Harry Carry Jr could sing ,but I didn’t know Sheb could play and sing too.
Back when Country music was about the people singing the songs, the lyrics and feelings not flashing lights ,drums, loud speakers and all the glitz. I miss the real country music with guitars and fiddles
Was my late Father in laws favorite song.
I loved his voice! Wonderful singer and great actor.
Festus was the bestest!!!❤❤❤
Born in the 50s only knew about Festus and not all the great singing before.

Call me a sucker. I like this kind of music. The Sons of the Pioneers is an all time favorite.
What a shockingly pleasant revelation. Good old Festus.
This song and the acting of John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara make me weep. Just beautiful.
What a film?
Now that's good music
Greetings from Dublin Ireland.
I didn't know Ken could sing, until a few years ago. I love his voice, of true music.
Saw ken sing at a rodeo. He and doc made some funny scenes like the one about the. Little Lot.
Could these guys be Roy Rogers' originals?!! LOVE them‼️⭐
Three are original members from the early 1930's: Hugh Farr (fiddle), Karl Farr (Guitar), Lloyd Perryman (tenor and lead singer for most of the Pioneers sessions spanning 4 decades). Tommy Doss (often mistaken for Roy Rogers and who sounded almost exactly like Bob Nolan who retired in ~1948). Shug Fisher (base, he came and went during the 1940's and 1950's also did a lot of comedy on live performances). Ken Curtis was formally trained in music and sometimes helped Bob Nolan (Tumbling Tumbleweeds, Cool Water, etc.) refine the arrangement of his music scores.
@@buddyroeginocchio9105 So COOL to know this. Tnx!
