Fast Sailing, mid atlantic!! (Sadler 25)

Following the ARC 2009 race from Las Palmas to St.Lucia. The crossing took 20 days and 8 hours in a sadler 25. Had to jury rig rudder for 1800Nmiles after hitting debries at 8 knots destroying the self steering gear and snapping the rudder off at the water line.

I've just spent a hard day stripping the engine out my Sadler 25 and cleaning the mess caused by a pigging oil leak. Felt fed up, sell the bloody thing fed up. Just watched this video and its reminded me the fun this boat can provide, sailing like a dinghy yet tough as you could ever need. Motivation reignited, roll on spring and some sailing weather!!

Am surprised the Cornish haven't knocked it down. Is it sea defence ? I don't get the homes for the privileged few bit ! Won't they get washed away !

Brings a tear to my eye to see this. It's disgraceful what they have done there. It's been years since they began to mess it up. I have a feeling that it's all going to fall through and those houses wont be built. Thanks for the vid, even if it was hard to watch.
Yeah. I was a lifeguard down there for 3 summers in the 80's. It makes me mad as hell to see what's happened to the place. I had a great time, and saw a lot of great gigs.
