I fixed mine with intermittent fasting after my ablation failed. This is due to a process called autophagy replacing damaged cells on a longer fast. I was super fit, but I had a sweet tooth and loved carbs. Too many carbs and sugars spike insulin, which long- term causes a big rise in inflammation

Doctor, I have been a bit hesitant to even watch your video due to anxiety about needing this procedure. I am a 62-year-old professor, and I believe you have just delivered the best presentation I have ever seen. Your pacing and delivery were excellent. The visual aids helped emphasize important information. Most importantly, you explained all the benefits and risks in a manner that calmed me down. Great job!

Great video, well done. I got persistent afib in February 2020 and was corrected with a cardioversion October 2020. It stayed in sinus mode until April 2024 when I went into persistent afib with 220bpm heart rate. I absolutely love exercising especially distance cycling, but I cannot do it now😥. The options I think are another cardioversion or an ablation. Can I please ask, which ablation is best for someone who wants to get back into exercising, would it be the RF burning or the freeze procedure. Thank you

My mother may have this done today. Cardioversion done 5 days ago and had another episode. She's been through alot since March. I hope this works today if they do ablation today. Praying 🙏 ❤ im so scared of the risks! Thank you for your video on this. I'm hoping with her issues that this could be done. I hate to hear her so confused and upset that she thinks she's going to die 😔 it makes me so sad But, the doctors say is is doing real good. I'm really stressed and worried. I try to not let her see me " loosing it" but, stay positive. She is 74 and a fighter.

Thank you Dr for this video on aFid ablation. Me I had a stroke in June 29th 2019, my friend took me to a heart hospital & they said I had the stroke from aFid. Got there about 4pm & at 11pm same day was transfer to a hospital next door because they said they don't do strokes. Did they do anything about my aFid? No!!! No meds, No shocking my heart in to rhythm Nothing!!! At the other hospital next door the next day the sent me a Neurologist & told me about my brain & my stroke, very interesting. Then they sent me an oncologist because the other hospital found out I had Breast cancer & the Dr told me of my opinion. Did the hospital send the me an cardiologists? No!!! Did they explain what aFid was, No!!! Did they give me any meds for my AFib, No!!! Did the convert my heart to stop aFid, No!!! The only thing they gave me was Eliquis so I wouldn't get blood clots & have another Stroke. I felt good, no feeling of aFid in my heart, no heart palpitations, Nothing at all except a little weakness but I didn't know if that was from the cancer treatmens? I never got a cardiologist because no one said how bad aFid can be on the heart. So I lived going thru chemo & radiation thru covld-19 a the time. I felt OK. Then in 2021 looked for a cardiologist because my body felt different & found one & saw him in 2022 & thru March 2023. He Never gave me any meds for my AFib, I was still my BP meds for my high blood pressure nothing had changed except now I was getting dizziness. He gave me test but he never said Anything was wrong with me, no clue & I felt OK except for the dizziness. Then in September of 2022 my feet started to swelled & normally I would take a diuretic a day or 2 & it would go away. But this time I took diuretic for a week & no change, so I called my cardiologists & he gave me other diuretics. They kinda work but my kidneys started to struggle so we had to tweak the dosage & they have worked. The in February in 2023 I saw my cardiologists & I was leaving & at the receptionist desk & she asked when would l like to have the Holter test? I asked what she was talking about & she told me, Not the my Dr. The Holter was for one day. The next month I had an appt for an ultrasound test & a EKG & then I saw my Dr & he said to me your test were Good, every thing looks good in fact you did better then I thought & then he said Oh by the way you need a Pacemaker or Ablation. My mind said WHAT were did that come from I didnt know what to say. So that was the last time I saw him. I next thing I looked up what was ablation & pacemaker, so I got my medical degree on CZcams. Ha Ha. I found another cardiologists at the hospital where I went for my stroke & they didnt do anything. He sent me to an electrophysiologists & he told me about ablation, he told me What the hospital should have done in 2019 now in 3 1/2 years from my onset of AFid when I was their for the first time. So I took the meds he gave me for AFib & it didn't work & he did nothing more. I looked on CZcams & found that long term AFid ablation doesn't work on Long time aFid but works newly Diagnose aFid. Like it does work in the first 8hours after aFid is Diagnose. And found out it does work in the first 8mos & I told him this. So that Dr recommended to a Dr electrophysiologists that does a Hybird Convergent Ablation a type of mini maze ablation & I was told about that surgery. So I Opt for that surgery. The Dr told me about it & because my physician strength was not good I asked him for Referral after the surgery a rehab nurseing home. He said No, that none of his patience went to one after surgery & I would stay in the hospital about one day or 3 days. The surgery day came & the Anesthesiologist came & saw me & said the surgeon will be in. He Never saw me before surgery & yet he knew how scared I was!!! The next thing I remember was waking up in my room in Pain!!! So for the next 2 & 1/2 days all I remember is Pain when I was awake & then Nothing because they gave me drugs to know me out!!! Every surgery I ever had I Remembered Every detail, before surgery & After surgery, from my tonelectomy at 3years old & my breast surgery in 2020!!! But this surgery just remembered Pain, not eating & not going to the bathroom nothing but Pain!!!. So I had questions about the surgery for my Surgeon. So I had an appt with him for the 2 week after surgery I guess for him to check on me. Well he was a Coward because like the surgery he never showed up before the surgery & He didn't showed up at this appt to see how I was doing. I asked the nurse about not seeing me before surgery & she said We Don't Do That In Our Office!!! : ( She couldnt answers any of my questions about the surgery, she said I dont know I wasn't there. I had pain most of my 6mos after the surgery, it was like he did a Spread apart my rib cage to get to my heart??? So the Procedure Hybrid Convergent Ablation didn't work!!! I was supposed to have an regular ablation 8 weeks after & that Dr fired me as a patient. Dont know why. I have been So Scared to do the regular ablation because its only 35% Effective on long-term aFid. Now I'm 79 so my chances are not good that I will have the ablation & it would get of my AFib. But even if it gets me where I had strength & Stamina again like I had in 2019 when I had early aFid. That would be great but my Sub-conscious is not letting me do it. And I'm afraid that the Bruising of my groin area will be so tinder & painfu that I will not be able to get out to bed to go to the bathroom. And I will lie in my filth. I'm poor & cant afford to have someone to come in to help me get out of bed. I live a lone & my friends are my age & they can't get in the car & help me to get out of bed, younger friends work. What to do??? Thank you for reading my woes & Sorry it is so long!!!

The second one successfully completed, but feel weak and totally wrung out. I had complete sedation. Only way to go. Did require a back wedge due spasms. I hope I feel better and have started PT. OH, that’s what’s different, all veins ablated, first time just one!!!!! Thank you!!!! PS. I was kept two nights post surgery then sent to a rehab for another week. Now doing PT for a month at home??? Very strange, good questions for doctor as I remember NOTHING!!., Bad shortness of breath and on O2 now. No pain at all that I recall. Did have a fever I’m told. Rehab had me up and going four hrs the following day.

Really enjoy your informative videos and interview with Dr. V. My para came on from a drastic low carb "keto" diet. Essentionally malnourishing myself and in addition too much hydration that wacked out my electrolytes. I reigned my diet in, incorporating IF 16:8, altered my lifestyle, dropping 151 lbs in the process. I then had an ablation. Was in nsr for one year, until I over-exercised during our hot Texas summer and got dehydrated. Self converted in ten minutes in ER. Then Oct, had another episode from low electrolytes. This time self converted after ER and hospital stay of 12 hrs. I have found my triggers to be: theobromine (Cacao), excess sodium, and electrolytes. I take eliquis (2x), metoprolol (2x), and magnesium glycinate (120x2). I feel so much better now however my goal is to drop another 70lbs. I started over 400lbs and at 6ft 3 it was just too much. I have another abaltion scheduled soon.
