Can't believe 3 fourths of them are gone. One thing I always loved about The Mamas & The Papas is how incredibly melodic and harmonious they sounded together. The only other band I can think of who sounds as harmonious and melodic as them is Queen. Rest peacefully John, Cass, and Denny.

a great protest song - are they any groups doing protest songs today/ Is there a youth movement of anywhere near the size that there was in the late 60s? The nearest leaders with a peace platform is Cornel West and Jill Stein. I hope people vote for them!

I usually don't like to talk about drugs etc. but when I was in college around 1971 I ran in two girls who room mates in the dormitory. They had spent an evening on LSD totally immersed in the Blows Against The Empire experience. As you might imagine their minds were blown and one said that it was like it was real. Of course, I had already down that road. That was what college life was like in 1971. If at time you wanted to really take a trip, this album would certainly take you there. Fond memories.

Now I gotta dig out my Sun fighter & Bark albums.
