Homeless To Hero, Artist TK Shows Us How To Follow Your Vision | S1 E11 I Street Art Adventures
In this episode of Street Art Adventures I meet up with an old friend I hadn't seen since third grade, TK! This guy's a true inspiration and has built a wildly popular, colorful, fun style all his own. Part pop art, part street art, and part something else entirely, TK takes us on a journey through addiction, through living in a van and painting on the street, and on to a creative rebirth back in good ol Portland, Oregon.
His work is all over Portland and more is popping up every day. Keep an eye out for TK because he's got big ideas and he's not afraid to use em!
Hope you enjoy this episode and as always support this channel by liking, commenting and subscribing.

Cool vid. Probably some Earwig pieces in my latest post about murals. I love the art around this city.
Really did not know much about a “Graffiti Culture” or however it is known. Not until all the coverage about the huge building in LA being covered with it. I just assumed most was done by kids, the ones who write on the walls at grade school. However, it is really eye opening to learn that it is really adult males, not children, doing most of the graffiti around town. That realization brings to mind the social behavior badge called the “Peter Pan Syndrome” (as in Peter Pan from the movie & book with Captian Hook etc) defined as: “Peter Pan syndrome (PPS), while not a recognized diagnosis, is a popular psychology term used to describe an adult who has difficulty growing up. People with this syndrome exhibit a series of social behaviors, ideologies and traits that are considered immature. In most cases, they may struggle with commitment, maintaining employment, doing chores, keeping up with responsibilities and having purposeful direction in their lives.” Wonder what will come of these man-boys?
😂 😂You could say that people who are into scale model trains or building Lego or collecting sports cards (a long with many, many other very common adult hobbies) are all people with "Peter Pan Syndrome" too..but I'm not a boring, judgmental dick. I think it's actually you that needs to grow up!
I know a lot of graffiti writers..and every one of them either has a career or owns their own successful business, many are either in serious relationships or are married raising great kids etc..I have a successful career myself working with at-risk youth and I can almost guarantee I earn more than you per year if you want to bring up employment etc.. while still painting on the side as I want to get the most out of this one life we get and do what I enjoy..so maybe you should have some sort of an insight into a topic before you start quoting unofficial diagnoses etc like you are some sort of superior person coz you really just look like an ignorant a-hole attempting to look smart for strangers on the internet 🤡
I hate the graffiti-vandals. What they do is not art. It's at least the theft of public and private property and money. I see it all as a weird sort of selfishness that's taken all the person's smarts and used them to perform amazing feats of wasteful stupidity. For what it clearly takes to do; I don't understand the shallowness of the payoff. What is the payoff anyway? A woody when they look back at it? So, it's basically "public-masturabation" as an "art-form"/masturabatorial-aid that they are proud of? Seriously? 🙄...🤭...🤣... I don't mean to shame 'bate'n in and of itself. But, an audience should have a choice about their part in it. How much would vandals like a half-hard, sticky with poop penis slapped across their eyes? Likey not so much...But, I could easily be wrong. Portland is funky-weird and banal about it. Anyway- I notice that in archeology the amount of vandalism reflects the abuse and criminal issues within the government and corporate upper-management. It is as though vandalism is the natural stink and meter for all that crap.
He wasn't about that graff life lol that's ok it ain't for everybody😅 👊
