Russian Mi17 helicopter landing at Lukla airport

Russian made Mi17 is used for transporting goods in the Everest region , where the nearestroad is a long two days walk. This is one of the landings that i have captured. you can also see Mt. Kwangde at the end of the clip.

In the late 70s an 11 year old girl mentioned she was with her family on a flight that flew over Everest . It affected her life greatly. How they flew directly towards Everest. in the late afternoon sunlight. 30 years later she decided to pay her money and take her chances starting in Nepal. She made summit but died on the way down. There are many tragic stories like that on Everest. What would her life had been like if she did not get mesmerized at age 11 ? Safer Yes. Better ? Probably not.

How does a helicopter get that high up in the air? I thought there were limits in the aerodynamics when that high with the air so thin. Shows how much I know.

A very sanitized look at Everest. For honesty, they should have shown the trash dead bodies left on the mountain over the decades.
About the worst edited mountain flight I have ever seen. Cuts off the scene repeatedly before you know it.
