Original sounds better
What brand and model of reeds does he use
bss black label
Of course Don Menza doesn't need Charlie Parker's mouthpiece for anything. Menza could always use an empty tin can for a mouthpiece and the sole of a sneaker for a reed to make history.
Awesome. I now know less than what I did before about getting a short or long shank.
Michael brecker is the most difficult musician to study
That “cheating” could cause later on any problem for the technic or other issues ?
it wont cause any issues. It will help bridge the gap from beginner to learning how to properly voice. its a common technique in clarinet and bassoon worlds
@@SaxSpy thanx!
A little mo swing, a little mo blues, gotta dance with that stuff...
It uses trumpet fingerings?
James Carter is extremely underrated as a saxophonist.
Thank you for your video. Selmer make great mouthpieces and the Soloist is one of them. God bless you. Bill. Uk 🎷🎷🎷
What neck strap is that?
just joes
Call me crazy but this sounds like coltrane
Good morning nice playing l need a back up horn. Does this inst have adjustment screws on the right and left hand stacks. I am a Yamaha Guy so l know their value.
no adjustment screws on the nexus
There is an interesting Sr Legend mouthpiece. I do not know why no one talks about these mouthpieces.
🔥🔥🔥
Is that not just tonguing?
tonguing or articulation includes all the different ways to articulate the beginning and ending of notes!
I'd hold that F ....& resolve to E & then go somewhere else. Resolution Cells? We're Musos not Mathematicians. Jazz is losing its Humanity.
Interesting video and beautiful playing on both instruments. I play a mk vii tenor (265xxx with the M stamp) that's keywork has been customised to feel like a mk vi. It's my forever tenor!
Besides this, my sax randomly shifts to upper mode and takes about 5 seconds to depress from the upper mode after using it, making playing near impossible. How do I fix this?
For the singing one, does it matter which octave you sing the pitches in? Thanks!
not really
@@SaxSpy thanks!
Astonishing.
Woah, reversed crook key??
I have the marbled mouthpiece but I find I have to pull way out to have good intonation, like all the way out... I love the sound, I'm playing on a YTS-62
Trane live
The click was from a missing cork. This advert for pad cleaner is nonsense.
no, it was the pad sticking 😂 how would i add a cork back in magically?
$8 million
Killer Sound
I'd go with one because i feel it has the best voice leading
What is your setup my friend? Perfect! Greatest
How does the Chicago compare to the Super Jet 🛩️?
Can he do john coltrane stellar regions
@ 4:25 “it’s probably overkill” - probably? LOL
Any wonder why jazz is dead?!
who said it's dead? it's a flourishing scene out here
Because gatekeeping loonies try to shit on anyone trying to help younger players
🫤
Is this a Jimmy Forrest reference? However it sounds like I’d cried for you by him. Then again it also sound like some Georgie auld and Charlie lol the list goes on lol
Where can I find the rest of this video?
saxspy.com/courses code SAXSPY
doing the lords work providing us with high level historical journalism, lovely video. i have a selmer 42 paris and a 1925 gold plated conn, whatever the difference y’all find in the horns all i can say is the conn makes me happier to pick up and play <3
I'm about to get that GS and i know it's worth it.
Vanilla. But that´s a good flavor also.
CONN USA É UM MÁQUINA !!!!! É PORISO QUE A SELMER PÁRIS COMPROU, PARA EVITAR A CONCORRÊNCIA .
Nice horn. Which one is this?
nexus premier
What is the name of this wonderful saxophonist?
chase baird
The Meyer is the real sound of bebop alto!!!!
I usually start at $275.00 per hour and go from there. There are so many people that charge a lot more, but that's just where I start depending on the gig.
But isn't it time to replace the pads in a few adjustments
No you didn't lol it needs protection it might fall out the blowhole
Tone so good I need a smooth jazz album asap
Sound is everything!
That's a cool looking trumpet bro
