Hey Dave, I'm doing blow molding and have a tool which I have turned the water almost all the way down on and yet I'm still getting condensation inside the mold causing an unwanted texture on the part. It's hot and humid here in VA and I'm battling condensation on all of our tools (injection tools as well) causing rust issues and a giant mess on the floor. Do you have any recommendation on how to cut down on condensation in molding?
The condensation problem is an issue that I have had for years & there is no way to prevent it other than Climent control on the plant. I have tried several things for insulator boards and insulators for all the water lines. Cutting the water back or chocking it in half will make the molds run hotter. This did help me on some jobs, but you have to watch for the parts getting too hot and warping. There is NO right answer on this issue it is something a lot of companies fight with. Thanks for watching & the support to the channel I greatly appreciate it. I hope I was able to help in some way.

In the case of material including Glass fiber, can the orientation or type of the injection gate improve the fibers orientation, and thus the warpage effect during cooling?
Yes, Changing Material or changing gate size will help with the warpage of a part. Most companies use glass fiber to help hold detentions. Thanks for watching & the support to the channel I greatly appreciate it.
Can we also add air venting holes in specific areas?
Yes, you can in areas that don't hurt the overall on part. Thanks for watching & the support to the channel I greatly appreciate it.

what kind of steel are moulds like this usually made of? i never thought about the sheer tooling cost involved in something as benign as plastic chairs
@@blackinferno57 so they use P2 steel and then they use beryllium to help. Keep the areas cool so they don’t overheat sometimes they use brass in those areas. Thanks for following me in the support to my channel. I appreciate it.

(1) Since no one else has explained and I'm too old to appreciate - but not too old to use Google... They're making gears out of powder... Not baking powder... "Powdered metals and alloys (under extreme pressure (Google)" I shudnt have been too surprised - years ago (at Motion Industries (warehouseman)) I was allowed to take a pallet of "powdered brass" away. (tmi? Got $500 scrap). Now I know how it was made...
@@TenaxMiles-bf4je that is cool a lot of people don’t know about the metal powder that makes those gears and stuff. They think it don’t exist. Thank you for the comment and the support to the channel.

Want to have fun? Spend days and days hand drilling the hundreds of tiny vacuum holes, being careful to avoid the invisible cooling lines inside the mold casting. Use a 12 inch long, 1/32 inch diameter aircraft drill bit, just to keep it interesting.
@@tonyanderson-ln9gl yes that’s crazy if you fill those up with plastic, the part won’t form right it sucks
you talking drilling a fresh mould or re-drilling to clear debris? genuinely curious
