Haymes' session of July 27, 1936, was something of a last hurrah. He got to wax _four_ of his own instrumental charts, all excellent stuff. It proved that even with this, his third orchestra in six years as a leader, he was a continuing force in big band jazz.

Mr Rust thought that Haymes' band had turned over July-August, 1936, with Lee Castle-t and Fred Falensby-ts jumping ship in between record dates. But I think I hear Falensby's very distinctive soloing here, so perhaps Castle is present too, playing the eight after the vocal.

not Russ Morgan conducting here, likely Freddy Martin conducting (who's style influenced Russ's arrangements VERY heavily, even Russ's signature intro & outro which can be heard on this track, [although the outro is a bit concealed]). Russ was just in the band playing trombone. maybe a Russ Morgan arrangement that was once again inspired by Freddy Martin.
