Reduced time on ventilator and coming off pressors earlier are relevant patient outcomes and are reasonable justification for using “sepsis dose” hydrocortisone. The 2 studies by the French group that did find a mortality benefit (APROCCHSS being just one of these) had a much higher incidence of CAP - something we know benefits from steroids. This could be the reason for the mortality benefit seen in these 2 trials Nice to see you back Dr W
