Cohort II MiG Edition - Model Overview

The Cohort II MiG edition is a Micky Clarke signature model, high performance everyday driver to grovel those head high and below days. The speed, responsiveness and release will allow you to make the most of these waves. Ridden 1" shorter than the Cohort I model, this board carries more surface area in the plan shape and has a shallow swallow tail which allows for pivot in the pocket and release in the lip.

looks amazing!!! i ride a 5'6 original Hypto (3 in a row...) and the 28.6 L is perfect for me. judging your suggestion to go for holy hypto in 5'8 it will be less than im used to...the 5'9 is too long..due to the 5'8 being longer and with the same thickness of the OG 5'6 do you think it will float me enough, especially in paddling/catching waves? thanks!!

Definitely his fin setup makes the difference. A quad or twin set up is the only way you have the speed to tube ride these little hyptos. I find the thruster good but not fast enough for deep barrel riding.

What fins do you recommend?
I don’t know if it’s the short rail line and wide forward widepoint or just me but mine slips out pretty bad as soon as it gets head high. Sometimes I love this board sometimes I hate it, sometimes it clicks sometimes it feels like it’s going backwards.

im using a rusty 8.0, I want to try a more raked out one and see how it feels. I'm still getting it dialed in, took off on some steep drops at pipe but the back end skid out on one, so if you want to knife big drops your foot plaement is super important. I'm finding that when your feet are choked up the front of the board you can really engage the rail.@@jpg1789

What's similar to holy grail? Looks more like a stretched-out hypto crypto.
The whole front end is almost exactly the Holy Grail. Rocker, plan shape and rail profiles.

More rocker and thinner rails

Yes, it rips with a 2+1!!! I wouldn't ride it 2+1 past shoulder high depending on the type of wave. Shame they don't offer the stock model as a five fin set up, Got mine custom with five fin and it handles quad, thruster and 2+1 very well depending on what the conditions call for. HAYDEN!! SUCH A VERSATILE BOARD WITH A NONVERSATILE FIN OPTION!!!??? I BEGGG YOU, OFFER A FIVE FIN STOCK!! I CAN'T AFFORD YOU CUSTOM STICKS ANYMORE!!!

cant find many reviews on this board. I'm looking at the 6'2 but it seems a little wide for a stepup at 20 1/4 can anyone give me some first hand feedback? I bought the 6'0 stepup and i either didnt have the paddle power or the rocker makes it paddle not as well as the 5'11 classic hypto I surf. It was about double overhead and I was strugling to get into them on the 6'0. Worried if I get the 6'2 it will be a bit wide and skip out

The worst customer service ever, they sold me a defect board, the fin boxes broke just after few surf sessions. They've said I hit something (on a beach break) every few weeks one by one a fin box broke, this NEVER happened to any of my other boards! @haydenshapes the worst customer service ever, don't buy their boards!
