    I was diagnosed with chronic non cancer pain 5 yrs ago and have been on most opioids so not to become dependent. Also talking about opioids with my doctor was very tense and uncomfortable. I've been on buprenorphine now 2 and a half yrs and my life has never been so good! This medication is more effective than any opioid and my pain is gone. There's side effects but they are minimal and worth having my life back. Sincerely, David Potter 🇨🇦

    Suboxone fucked my endocrine system right up. At the time I took it Doctors didn’t know it causes suppress hpa axis. My testosterone was in the red. I was placed on testosterone. I really wish I never took suboxone long term. It saved my life after getting dependent on opioids for pain. But I didn’t understand tolerance at the time.

    I tired to get Suboxone and they said they only prescribe it for opioid use disorder. Meanwhile, others have told me either that I'm too young for chronic opiates or it increases fibromyalgia pain. So I can't get on either unless I were to go buy off the streets and hope I lived long enough to get on Suboxone after that.

    This is a great presentation. Could use an update in terms of no x waiver needed anymore, no need to go through early withdrawals if using plain buprenorphine, etc.

    Buprenorphine will NOT help chronic pain. KRATOM will. It provides freedom from anxiety, pain, depression, fatigue etc. it’s saved my life. Suboxone did nothing for me except stay in my body for like 2 weeks to a month. Kratom doesn’t cause respiratory problems. Safe say Buprenorphine really doesn’t either. Why am I paying 100 dollars for a Dr to send in my prescription to my pharmacy with that record accessible to any Dr?? Drs don’t know if you take Kratom. Don’t trust them. Drs do not want anything to do with you. A worn out rotator cuff with surgery will probably have the Dr send you home with Tylenol. Buprenorphine is horrible. Uggghh.

  • @AndthenthereisCencorship-xc6yi

    The issue as I see it is one of "knee jerk" response by FDA/DEA, and CDC. They lumped in and continue to blame those with chronic pain. They cut them off cold turkey in many cases. This was and continues to be shameful. The state and federal government colluded with DEA and FDA on these stringent measures, too. Doctors who want to help their patients in pain are now hamstrung by the system. This is also why people who are desperate for relief turn to street drugs in order to treat real pain. Some commit suicide, too.

      I was wondering what strength patch you’re on? I’ve been in pain management for 16 years, 12 of which I was on the Fentanyl patch along with Percocet 6x a day the same strength & dose the entire time . My long time pain management doctor left his practice and the new doctor cut me off cold Turkey. I was in severe withdrawal for a few months. I was referred to a new pain management doctor but she won’t prescribe the opioids I used to use successfully. She put me on the Buprenorphine patch , the 5 mcg . I’ve been on it since December and it doesn’t help the back, neck , nerve , and headache pain I have at all. I’ve also followed all her advice about the pain management books , online tutorials, exercises but the pain is intense everyday and it’s hard to be able to do my everyday household chores and sleeping is almost impossible except a few hours during the day. I was just wondering what strength worked for you. Thanks

      @@moeruss2726 it’s 15mg plus hydrocodone 10-325 4 times a day. It reduces the pain enough so I can function. I’m hoping my doctor will increase the dosage next time I see him. I can’t believe that doctor cut you off cold turkey. I didn’t think they could do that. That’s horrible and dangerous won’t your doctor increase your dosage? Hopefully you can find a new pain management doctor to help you.

    So glad CZcams allows free speech. After a month on butrans, i was screaming at my family. At one point my blood pressure reached 150 and the pain so intense the patch had to be removed at the hospital. I nearly died and fought infection and swelling near patch site. Withdrawal was worse than amitripyline. Placed back on true opiates and benzodiazepines. Recovery was quick except for the infection courtesy of buprenorphine. This doctor is a crooked DEA, buprenorphine salesman who would that we all take this respiratory depressive med and drown. When first hit on in the 60s it was considered dangerous and low efficacy. Now it's pushed as te perfect chem for euphoria and behavior control courtesy DEA. Don't take it or Suboxone or Naloxone.

    So scary this guy is a doctor. Let's take buprenorphine into combat. It's sch. 3 so it can sale. I have been on conventional opioids and buprenorphine and benzodiazepines. He is lying blatantly. Buprenorphine is no opioid, is no Iboga. Ask why subbutex and Suboxone are not being filled by family pharmacists. Hyperalgesia is mentioned every sentence. Euphoria cannot be defined and even receptors and their existence are questioned by the best doctors. BUPRENORPHINE is addictive, is not a painkiller. I wish this doctor had intractable pain.

  • @tmbarry
    @tmbarry Před 8 měsíci

    Zero evidence for long term success? Really. What’s true is there’s no long term double blind placebo studies. Saying no evidence is wildly misleading. There’re approximately 8 to 10 million people who take daily opioids. What your claim suggests is that these people are taking it and it doesn’t work. That’s objectively ridiculous Also hyperalgesia has only been shown in rats, it pure propaganda to say it caused pain in humans

    POLICE STATE TREATMENT VIA BUPRENORPHINE. You should explain respiratory depression. I have taken BUPRENORPHINE for chronic pain and had some euphoria but what is euphoria? For severe pain it failed and at high doses it had no effect but had serious breathing problems and a nasty infection caused by the patch. I can't believe this expert said opioids had no effect on nerve pain and improved sleep. Oh this guy is not for benzodiazepines. The two miracle drugs are the benzodiazepine and opioid class. What about Iboga? Suboxone is the new addictive nightmare that opioids and benzodiazepines never were for intractable pain patients.

    I am on Day 2 of Bup, leaving behind my 20 mg of Oxycodone 4 times a day. I have spinal stenosis, and it causes horrible nerve pain from my back down to my left leg. I have been disabled for over 20 years. Since I am only on Day 2, I don't have a lot to report. The sublingual pills are easy to take, but yeah, the taste is bad. You would think they would put some kind of flavoring in them, but I guess the risk of a child getting a hold of one would be VERY bad. In my short time, I can say this… 1. Sleep. OMG… I sleep so much better on BUP than Oxy. 2. Pain - I think I need more time before I can report on this, I still have the same pain, and it is muted (like the oxy does). It's not GONE, which I never expected, but did hope for a bit more relief. The 8 hours between doses seems not to work for me, 6 would work better. 3. My Brain - My head is much clearer, this is a big plus. Oxy really dragged me down, like all the other (and I have taken them all) narcotics have done. 4. Speed - Like he said, it acts pretty fast, I feel the pain (mostly nerve pain) calm down a bit, but truthfully, no more than the Oxy did. 5. Nausea/Side Effects - Really, so far, none. I am going to give it the full week as my Doctor requested, IF it can keep my pain equal to the Oxy, I will stay on it. It just seems like a "BETTER" medication FOR ME. I HATE when meds mess with my head, make me "cloudy" and feel bad.

    I've taken Bup for many years because it helps me with depression and motivation to maintain my life. I started taking pain killers when I broke my foot, way back in the early 2000's. It was so easy to get refills and no one really worried about saying no. And to be honest, I feel better, function better and am more motivated to run my life in a super better than normal way when I'm on even a basic amount of opioids vs. the Bup. Many of us just are able to function and build our lives in a better way with a real opioid. The Bup is good for making me not crave the real thing. However, the real thing is my super power. I have always and only taken pills - never been to the point of wanting to go to street drugs, never stolen money or done anything that would make me a criminal. I would rather go thru withdrawal than do any of the typically bad behaviors that would land one in jail. I just wish the powers that be would understand that not all of us are crazed lunatics that will land on the streets. I have too much pride, knowledge and self worth to allow myself to go down the bad route. The real thing makes me wake up with a certain excitement for the day. I do things that I would normally allow my pain to make me NOT do that thing. For example - digging holes in the garden, waking up early and excited for the day etc. It makes my brain mostly turn off the pain pathways in my brain. My hips, back and butt don't hurt to the normal extent that keeps me from enjoying my days. I own a business that requires me to lift, move and pack truck loads of furniture, fresh floral arrangements, lift heavy buckets of water etc. Taking just 60 to 80 mg. a day of something like a 10 mg. Lortab makes my life and my days enjoyable again!!! Please tell congress!!!! We are not all criminals or junkies!!!!

    It would be wonderful if you could share more, or elaborate on the SUD/OUD side of Suboxone. I work in the field of SUD. Patients face such criticism from some people within the 12 step community, and other fellow counselors working in the SUD field! They are under the impression that the person taking it is still “getting high.” I’ve had many clients, patients who got started with opiates because of chronic pain and then became addicted. Experiencing all the negative consequences that go with that. I’ve seen Suboxone change people’s lives, along with counseling they find long lasting, sustainable recovery. Becoming productive members of society. Their families thankful because they have their loved one back. I don’t think people are properly educated about Suboxone. Thank you for your passion, for all you do & for the great informative videos!

      Patients that take their prescribed pain medication responsibly are not the patients that need suboxone. We function much better on our prescription. It’s tragic what is happening with addicts taking fentanyl they get illegally.. also tragic the way legitimate chronic pain patients are being treated by the medical community and most of all by our government. Hate to think what we as citizens will have to tolerate next!

Hate!hate !really hate being treated like I am a child and an addict when I am only trying to get someone to work with me to achieve better pain control. I am a 71yo masters prepared nurse practitioner who have taught many of the nurses in our community. I hate being treated like an addict. Thankfully there are many other providers in town.
