I'm assistance coach. 1st year. An the head coach go into practice and the game with so much anxiety an frustration rite off the bat. I see it going on to the players. We are 0-4. An it's not a fun season. Not sure how to tell the head coach to calm down an have fun. We've had some close games. But when we're down. He goes into flight or fight mode. Lol! It's frustrating ha

Im a freshman juco player right now, coaches telling me i have loads of talent. I started at 3b during the fall and i was hot and 3 months ago i hit a brick wall. Since the spring season started, i have had 5 abs with 3 ks and its been about 25 games into the season. Hearing you speak about your senior year of highschool and then going on to make a long run in the pros is relieving. Thanks for the video.

Did I miss you explaining how to let the ball travel

I was asked to head coach 11-12 year olds. I've worked with these kids as a volunteer parent or assistant coach in 9-10. Worried I don't have what it takes to help them progress... Due to the need I'm going to accept, but I hope I can be enough for these kids.

I played through college and a little semi-pro ball, many a days I felt like quitting because I would have horrendous days...but I had good people around me bringing me up, today I coach empathetically bc this game is tough. I want to keep kids engaged in the sport. ⚾💥

I had the honor of talking with Ernie Banks… just the 2 of us talking about hitting for 5 hours! It was awesome! He treated me as if he’d known me all my life! Gaylord Perry introduced me to him in ‘93 and left us alone listening & singing along to Jimmy Durante (schnazola) songs. We laughed hearty together! It was an amazing experience for me to learn from Mr Cub! He was enjoying White Wine Spritzers while we covered every aspect of teaching the things that help hitters the most. He talked about martial arts/boxing (my other sport), climbing, tug of war, ropes, squeezing tennis balls and the “grippers”! He was adamant that hand strength and fast hands were vital to being a good hitter! Another Great post Spring! Thanks!!! Stay Real Brother! 💪🏼⚾️ 😉

Man I remember listening to Steve Springer on a CD-R that I burned in 2002 about his career in the minors. It was the first “motivational” talk I can remember. I kept it in a huge CD case and played it in my high school truck while driving to school, and in my portable CD player while I was hitting off the tee. 20 years later and he is on CZcams hopefully doing the same to our youth as he did to me!

Im gonna ask you this. So why are some hitters such as Dee Gordon, David Fletcher, Ramiel Tapia and Nick Madrigal not powerful hitters? Do they just want to hit singles? Or do they not lift weights? I always wanted to know

Hey Coach I got a question when you say be the best competitor on the field with an attainable goal to hit ball hard and help my team win. Do you become a great competitor by having the right approach and being confident? And also when you say this approach is this what you take into the at bat or is it on deck

was 0-6 last weekend. watched this video along with the mental side of hitting vid and hit a double when i went up to bat. these videos work and he knows what he’s talking about!!!

So we have 2 kids on a rec league/ kiawanis, 11 yrs old who are both developing. Kid A caught all of last year every game, toughest and hardest working kid and best teammate by far, best attitude, shows improvement with reps, but he’s on lower end of natural talent when it comes to throwing hard and hitting. He’ll do anything and everything we ask him to do. Kid B looks a bit more natural playing baseball, little bit cocky, and lets a lot more balls to the backstop which has cost us to lose about 40% of games, he isn’t very tough and we need to call time when a ball hits him or his thumb hurts, needs a lot of work like most 11 year olds. We play him 100% of the time cause he is likely going to have the potential. Kid A gets to catch other pitchers at practice but for games we bench him or put him in the outfield. Is this wrong and should we be developing both of them equally at age 11?

so would you say not choking up resorts in more power in the hit compared to choking up which you can control more and be more accurate with ur hit?

May I ask why you don’t think Football is a good sport to play in high school in order to get better at baseball? We want players to get bigger, faster & stronger. The conditioning, strength training, and physicality of Football sure seems like a benefit for athletes.
