Our bad food thing is due to the war 70 plus years ago when we had strickt food restrictions.

The bakery near me in Chester has apple sauce in the sausage roll, anazing. The lack of tables is due to the IRA, they would hide bombs under them, growing up with bombs you get used to it,its hunfortunatly part of UK lifr.

Will have to add Ireland to the go to places 😝 we leave for the UK & Scotland in 23 days!!!!

Great vid and accurate description of the different stalls. I work around the corner from Borough Market and get so sick of food blogs on Borough market and all they gush about is the chocolate covered strawberries, so I'm glad you didnt even review them! 10/10

Definitely not the best food market in the world. Just Reading Terminal in Philly is way better than Borough market. Nevermind all of the crazy Hawker centers and markets they have all over Asia, which you guys have seen.

I think on a Saturday in September/October you both need to come about an hour south of London to Crowborough in East Sussex and have lunch before a game at my local rugby club. Home cooked food, great sport and a few shandies too.

Just to say that something that many don’t realise is that London is made up of 33 local authorities (the City of London at 1.12 square miles and the 32 London Boroughs at more than 605 square miles), so most tourists only see less than 10% of London because they stay in the very centre. Most of London used to belong to the surrounding counties but from 1st April 1965 the 32 London Boroughs came into existence (to join the City of London) by an Act of Parliament which moved London’s boundaries further out and rearranged the smaller area of the City and other communities that made up London into the more than 606 square miles that it now entails. The town in London where I was born was, up to 31st March 1965, a town in the county of Kent. It has existed since before the Kingdom of England came into existence in the year 927, as it was mentioned in a royal charter by the Anglo-Saxon King of the Kingdom of Kent dated in the year 862. Therefore London does not have a “downtown” as each of the thousands of cities, towns and villages has its own centre (“downtown”) around its High Street (Main Street) where it originally started, some even before the Romans arrived in the year 43. My London borough is the largest at just under 59 square miles and most of that is made up of villages, hamlets, farms and open walkable countryside bordering onto the county of Kent. People who complain about London generally are really complaining about the centre 6 square miles or so of touristy, expensive, crowded London, and have never stepped foot in the vast majority of London with its thousands of individual communities with their own histories - some of which are a few thousand years old.

Hi. As others have said people who complain about food in the UK either have never actually eaten here because not only have they never been here but they couldn’t even point it out on a map, or have eaten in tourist traps where they have just reheated some processed frozen ready meal in a microwave and charged a fortune for it. I would say to visitors go to a decent (doesn’t have to be expensive) place where the locals eat and you’ll find the food that we eat (we don’t live on Full English Breakfasts, Fish and Chips, Sunday Roasts and Afternoon Teas - again if you do try these don’t go to ones in heavily touristy areas). I’m glad you appear to have enjoyed your culinary adventures in the UK.

The guy saying cash is better... Yeah, right! Let's just say that most places that pay their taxes want card/contactless in preference these days, because cash is ultimately more expensive to handle, unless you don't pay your taxes. Inland Revenue should be all over this place by the looks of it. People talk about the wealthy not paying taxes, but the cumulative amount of untaxed cash payment daily is a huge drain on public finances. If anyone tells me it's cash only, I walk away.

"Corned beef" is something post war people reference/eat and is tinned here in the UK. I love salt beef but HATE corned beef. My kiwi husband calls salt beef corned beef which always messes with my head. Being a Londoner, I've never been to Borough market, it's always struck me as a tourist trap and expensive. It's a bit like Camden market. Which I found many of the food stalls full of fatty meats and limited meat. It might have changed in the last 20 yrs. I'd be spending £50+ easy getting a meal and some dessert in Borough market. I normally get a starter and a drink too, for 2. It was great seeing what Borough market has to offer in modern times, loved the video 👍🏼
