      Anytime you alter the suspension on a bike you run the risk of changing its handling. How much is to be determined by what you do and the only person who can notice will be you. This bike in particular had its suspension altered and before I put the OE shocks on you could not turn right very sharp without dragging pipes. Burly shocks are IMHO junk and serve zero purpose on a bike.

    That power supply is garbage! Spend a little bit of money and buy a legitimate bench power supply! Also that wall adapter would shut itself down before it ever popped that one amp fuse the fuses rated for 1 amp you could easily put two plus amps into it before it would even think about popping and that wall adapter can't output that much current so the fuse is useless

  • @jawojnicki
    @jawojnicki Před 2 měsíci

    All your testing shows that the main fan was working THE WHOLE TIME If you let the car come up to temp or just turned on the AC switch, you would have seen that only the sub fan was inoperable and this would have greatly reduced your diag time! I'm glad you got there eventually but if anyone is watching this video for help with this issue please do not follow this process! Confirm the relays are good. Jump the load side pins on the fuse box and if both fans run, IT MUST be a control side issue. Test the pos side of the control circuit by KOEO ground the ctrl side pins with a test light ($3 at HFT). If you get a light on 1 ctrl pin on each socket, you KNOW the pos side is good! Run the engine, turn ac on and check continuity between neg battery post and the grd pin on the ctrl side. If you get NO continuity on that pin, you've narrowed your diag down to ONE arm of the circuit in 20 min or less! No trip to the junk yard, no ect swaps, no fuse testing needed Final tip: USUALLY for cars this old, you can get a pdf factory service manual online for 25 bucks or less!

    • @toolshedadventures
      @toolshedadventures Před 2 měsíci

      First you assume the AC in the car was working... it was not. Second you assume it was a temperature in which it wouldn't take long for the car to warm up to temp.. it was not. I then also pointed out in the video through very simplistic means of how to check fans and said they both worked as did the relays and this point it was a control side issue of no power getting somewhere. The rest of the video is going through how I troubleshooted that and why I had to do what I did and in the end is was a break in the wire in the main harness running up the driver fender. I was only able to determine this from doing continuity tests from inside the car to the fuse box and locating the fault. Your methods and my methods will be different in figuring out something, but it does not mean either is right or wrong. Figuring out the problem and finding a solution is the end goal.

  • @62Cristoforo
    @62Cristoforo Před 2 měsíci

    If oil is leaking out it also means air is getting in. If air gets in it will foam and expand and overflow out of the reservoir.

  • @62Cristoforo
    @62Cristoforo Před 2 měsíci

    ATF fluid around the reservoir suggest an overflow. The overflow is usually caused by expansion of air bubbles entrained within the oil itself. The oil doesn’t expand; the air in it does. This creates foamy oil, causing it to boil over. Air gets in to the system through leaks. Most leaks are from worn/crushed/failed O-rings, locates either at the pump, or at the rack. The oil leaks out, and air gets in. Make sure you replace the O-rings with the EXACT size. Oversized O-rings, even by hundredths of an inch, will not fit, risking a cracked hose-to pump fitting when tightening down the bolt.

    If I was going to make that jumper ..I can use the plug from the junkyard and just twist the wires together?.. I'm assuming there's only two?. I started taking my Subaru to a shop in Spokane, Washington and these places started selling me and ripping me off. I actually bought an air conditioning pump when I didn't need one. I was told my s*** was leaking and I remember having my car for 3 years and I never had to add freon. I was lied to . Now my ac is worse in the summer.. I needed the condenser . Cool trick. I know there used to be a bracket that, in combination with the factory "tripod" bracket (that bolts between the pulley and the pump), provided the slider slot for the outboard adjustment bolt. It only bolted to the head and reached behind and across the pump, dropped down and had a slot in it for that adjustment bolt to slide in. Didn't use ANY of the studs on the back of the pump and didn't have any connection to the front-most exhaust bolt. Of course, I didn't buy it for $30 back in the day because I was cheap and opted for hacked-up factory brackets, which are still on my car.

    Bravo Toolshed Adventures. I bought a 02 Impreza OBS whos previous owner had the fans positive wire ran directly to the cab fuse panel and held in with a fuse. IDK why except for the fact the fans didn't work otherwise. So I didn't want to trouble shoot why they had such a poorly crafted remedy. I ended up running each fan each to their own relay fuse then to their own switch on the panel where the fog light button is and always turned them on as the coolant got up to temp. luckily for me I never forgot to turn them on but I recently sold it and suggested to the new owner that he bought a kit that's like $20 online so a thermo would activate the fans instead because I know that even though I never forgot to turn them on I highly doubt the next person would be so attentive and be able to remember to turn on the fans lol. Your dedication far surpasses mine. Good show sir.

    I am so glad I found this video. I have a 2001 Forester and it sometimes shifts really hard especially between 2nd and 3rd gear and then it will run for a month with no issue and then do it again occasionally. I had the transmission serviced (basic drain & fill) at the dealer, but still does it occasionally. Of course, it never does it when I take it somewhere to have it looked at. Is that the same problem you were having and did this full flush help yours? Anyone who reads this, I’d appreciate any advice!!! Thank you.

    • @toolshedadventures
      @toolshedadventures Před 8 měsíci

      When I did the flush it did help and the transmission shifted better. Making sure you do the filter is critical and you may need to do multiple flushes. Now one thing I can never recommend is a flush that uses a machine because it can sometimes clean the transmission out too much and can actually cause problems.

It’s a cheap part but not easy to get at. I soaked mine in WD for 15, gave it a few shakes, and now I’m now getting 400km per tank, instead of 300 km., and no more oxygen sensor trouble codes.

I ended up replacing every section of that exhaust system, from the block to tailpipe. But the new catalytic converter section didn’t line up with the tail pipe section, and required extra welding. I double checked all parts and part numbers just to make sure I ordered correctly. Everything was from the dealership. 2.5X SOHC. 25EJ engine. Mine has a block heater as well. I wonder if block heaters are standard on all Subaru’s sold in the Canadian market?

      If you take care of them they can last a long time. Maintenance is key with Subarus.

      ive changed everything i could so far n no leaks no smoke no slippage no lights even the spare tire in the trunk is brand new was never touched the inside and engine bay all immaculate surprisingly, i had a broken tire rod was the only issue ive had in 7 months asides for me embarrassingly put atf in the differential lol! but i learn quick hahahh. i feel like a teenager cuz i havent been in a situation to do my own maintenance in a long time. I thank you very much for your time and patience with me brother. if you think of anything else pls dont hesitate! my mechanic only really messes with subarus he fixes them and sells them also and owns one so i trust my man more than most he put me on to aisin timing kit he said he tried everything else and this is a little more but its worth it come with water pump and all trimmings. changed serpentine belt also so im trying to make it sturdy a to b car.@@toolshedadventures
