Thanks for this video does this have to cover most of the balcony or is one across just enough to deter them ? They have made my life a misery I have a flat with a balcony on a courtyard and the sound of them brooding in the summer mornings in particular drives me potty as the sound is amplified around the area. Total pests !

I waited to comment until I had actually tried this. My apartment building has a big pigeon problem. We are away a lot and always return to a huge mess on our balcony. The sincere and costly efforts of the condo to control pigeons has had very limited success. One month ago I tried this solution after thoroughly cleaning the balcony. I was delighted to find it to be 100% successful, not a single pigeon poop in a whole month through July. This method really does work. I used 8 lb fishing line, by the way. czcams.com/video/ekTq7adoAX0/video.html There is one likely downside. While this works well it likely is not too durable. I suspect line breaks to occur needing replacement, easy for a homeowner but perhaps too expensive for a condo board to repeatedly address. Having said that, this measure is stunningly effective.

You guys reckon this will work with other smaller birds compared to pigeons. I'm definitely doing this for the pigeons but I do have another set of birds whove decided to take over my second balcony and yes keep pooping.
