WOT box on, flat shift engaged, no more boost drop on gear change. So i can now rev it out at last, a dream to drive :) Session was cut short when an RS dropped fluid & the full session later on didn't record on GoPro :(

After a lot of bad luck in previous years with the Mondeo, i decided to take the Audi. Didn't beat my time with it, but had fun & no problems.

Cheers mate! Mine has an RS turbo fitted, does low 30's mpg commuting to work The Ford wheels are all the same bolt pattern

It goes OK for a big car, but I wouldn't discribe it as a good track car because of the weight. But I like to be a little different & with decent brakes & tyres I have fun 😁
@@noddy680 But what with engine? I mean I heard that 2.5T doesn't like high rev and high temperature (the cylinders would break) I see it's not a stock engine. How did you fix this problem?
@@Tomi-be2rv the engine has a block mod, forged pistons & rods. And I use water/meth for cooking too.

You can get a Kuga with the 2.5t as well 😁 There's a fb page with loads of modified one on it
mine has a clogged up turbo. Keeps putting it in limp mode.

Your Mondy is going strong! What do you think are the downsides of the car? Any planned mods? I’m looking for a 2.5T estate and would love to “copy” your mods. I have read a lot of the comments so won’t bother you by asking the specs ;-) Congrats on the car & driving.
Thanks mate, the only real downside is the ecu & fueling system, makes it more difficult to tune properly. No more mods planned, I think around 400hp is the sweet spot.
i will bring my mondeo 1.6 tdci to this track. :D

@@matthewirvine1361 it turned out to be the water/meth line came disconnected & was spaying out of the bonnet. Was a really hot day though! Only boosting to 1.2 bar now instead of 1.5, still trying to find the cause

It's quite a long list, but it's basically a forged bottom end, stock head & RS turbo with all supporting mods. BC coilovers & kspprt big brakes
I recognise that s max in front of you at the start. Part of the Mad Maxs group (not like the sticker gives it away or anything haha). Pretty sure it's a 2.5t model aswell. Gotta love the sound of a 5 Pot engine. Great video

Quick question, in the 2007 - 2012 Mondeo they had the 2.5T, But i cannot find facelift mondeo with the same engine... Did you put facelift bumpers and stuff on the pre facelift??
Yeah it's the face-lift bumper & bonnet on a pre face-lift. Bought a drl module off ebay to make the drl work

Cheers, standard radiator & oil cooler. I run water/meth which helps with cooling though. Yes it's block modded & forged aswell

@@noddy680 nice!!! I'll have to have a look into it all. I run a GT-R as my fun car now and a 335d BMW E92 as my "daily" but these seem ideal as the family wagon. Looks from this like you can make them nuts too! Excellent driving! I'm too scared to do the 'ring I'm afraid! LOL!

@@noddy680 Jeez, that's a nice amount of power. Just about to pick one up as a family car, but it's only running 280bhp thanks to Bluefin. Not sure whether that's the best starting route or where to go next. It would be nice to get some extra oomph out of it though!
@Lloyde Turner yeah I know all about the block mod mate. It was done before I started any other mods, along with the clutch & an LSD. It now has a forged RS block, which is also block modded as a precaution even though the liners are slightly different to the ST to help prevent that sort of thing.
@Lloyde Turner yeah it was built by people that really know their stuff, strong motor! I wanted an St225, but went for the Mondeo instead, more likely to ha e had an easy life. But it definitely doesn't get one now 😂 It's the chance you take with anything 2nd hand really, tuned cars are more likely to have been driven hard, it also serviced properly!

Cheers mate, on track I use pilot sport cup2's on 19" rims. Suspension is BC coilovers , handles pretty well

@@flavioc5389 235 35 19, Common size, so easy to find & relatively cheap. They do roll onto the sidewall a bit, but had no issues with them.

@@noddy680 it should of been running 463bhp but leading up to the event last 5psi boost pressure some how, think wastegate spring on its way out so probably running 400bhp on the day give or take. bet the ST guy had shock when we blasted past ether side lol.
@@bart10180 mines about 400hp too, I originally was going to put her on a diet, but I like the full interior comforts 🤣 handles OK for 1500kg car though!

Its a forged RS block with head & cams. RS turbo, airtec intercooler, scorpion exhaust, quaife Lsd & RS clutch, BC coilovers, ksport big brakes. It's about 400hp

@@johnp6636 the ecu is a pain, but the map I have on it is great. The only problem that no one has been able to solve is boost drop on gear change, but I've got around that by fitting a WOT box so I can flat shift.

I leave it there between sessions. Last session was good, but Gopro didn't record 🙁
Wish id been braver and took mine on but to scarred of breaking it same with santa pod on 29th aint got the balls to go down the strip
Got to take mine back to the strip now its sorted. Think of the fun you'll have if you don't leave it in the car park!
