is being a ski instructor competitive?
I would say no it is not competitive, but you will be assigned to clients based on your ski level. Maybe that motivates you, it did work for me!
Is it just your BASI level or do they go based off how well you ski too? I’m from US so I don’t have BASI/ISIA certs

I could not live with other people’s mess in the apartment but sounds like a cool job.
hey im 18 years old and im from germany and i ski since im 7/8 so about 11 years, i do this program next month. i can ski all pists obviously and offroad i can ski okay, i can jump a little bit but only do one skill. i have heard the program is really tough only the best make it, but from the video it seems like almost everybody can do it. short turns long turns looked easy and the rest as well. is it really as easy as it looks ?
What date is your course?
In general your first qualification is more about learning to teach and not your skiing capabilities, but the requirements vary from country to country.
Do you actually start work at 9.50am and finish at 6pm??? I am so jealous! I usually work about 10 hours but some of my colleagues used to work 13h a day! But that's Poland...

Ahh I go to Ischgl to ski every year. Best ski resort and just gotta say when I ski there the ski instructors are always so good looking 🥺😍

I have worked with colleagues in my house that went to the gym regularly in the evenings yes!
being a ski instructor is definitely not easy but can be really rewarding! And stressful, and hard, and tiring haha

Hi I am 50, and very good skier. I was a junior champion in giant slalom, but my German is not so good, I lost it over the years (i used to speak German little bit). Language is my biggest concern.
I am sure you can do it, only basic level is required and Duolingo and watching German subtitles are good practice!
But i don’t speak german
I didn’t either beforehand, give it a shot!
Hey Man! Thank for your great video!! I'm really interested in doing the course but I have no knowledge of German at all! Do you think I'll be fine? I know the exam is in german. Is it hard? Do you think a person with no knowledge of the language can pass it?
Only a very basic level is required but with the tips I give in my video and some effort you should be able to pass I would say!

Why are you sharing a house and a bedroom when you are working? Is this normal in Austria?
Consider the costs of accomodation in ski resorts, its just not worth the money if you life by yourself
Can you touch a bit on how much you make, how many hours you work and how the rent works at the apartment?

Great video! I have a couple of questions about the course: 1. How much did the whole course cost (including food, accommodation, etc.)? 2. What level instructor qualification do you get when you finish the course? I want to become a ski instructor one day :)

hay @ ExtremeInstructor! was it expensive to become a ski instructor? it looks like its a big investment before you can even start working :(
How much German do you need to know and how good do you have to be???
You have to be able to understand the instructor during the course, he will be speaking German. There are also some educations done in English, but keep in mind that the skischool you will work for prefers people who able to teach in German. Hope that answers your question!
Were you already a very good skier before you start the first course?
Hi Terence! The honest answer is no. You don't have to be an extremely good skier to make the course. Some say it is even easier if you haven't developed your own technique yet. This allows the instructors to drill the correct techniques in from the start! I did have 1 week training before the 2 week anwarter course. Goodluck!
1 week training from scratch/beginner?
@@terencetcf I had skied for about 10 days on my own, no lessons (I 'learned' from friends). Then I did 1 week training, and straight after that I did the 2 week anwarter course. It mostly depends on how athletic you are, how easy you can pick things up. Be willing to learn and crash on your face!
ExtremeInstructor wait u cant tell me that u literally skied 17 days and made the anwärter ? i ski for 11 years now and im a bit nervous if i make it next month? so there is no need for me to be nervous ?
