Know Jesus and change the world. When people think of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania, they think of the birth of the Episcopal Church, the founding of our country, William White, Absalom Jones, the Philadelphia 11, justice and hope. There is truly a revolutionary spirit in this diocese. Let's make history together.
Juneteenth: What Does Freedom Mean to You Now? Think about it!
“Juneteenth is the celebration of ideals, freedom from physical bondage, and a striving towards mental and spiritual freedom for the emancipation of our collective consciousness. We must perpetually strive towards freedom and remember the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., ‘Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed.” What does freedom mean to you, NOW? Think about it.”

“This is our true hope.” (Easter 2024)
zhlédnutí 258Před 4 měsíci
Right now it may feel as if our world is only filled with darkness. Poverty, mental illness, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and all types of prejudice, hatred and indifference cloud hearts and minds. War in many countries. Politics and suspicion divide us. Yet, just as on that first glorious Easter, the hope and power of Jesus Christ shines through it all.

God bless
Jesus died for our sins! 🎚 Jesus saves!
Thank you for this message
The joy of the Lord is your strength. I remember when I was young being in a legalistic "Christian" cult. After about 6 months one evening, our leader turned a Billy Graham Crusade on the TV. I don't remember the sermon, but I during the congregational singing I experienced a joy I had never heard in the cult and decided that, even if I'm wrong, I choose joy over what I was experiencing. So I walked out and never looked back.
Fr. Absalom Jones was an amazing and revolutionary man. What an inspiration!
This service was supernatural and so powerful well done to all the ministers and clergy and singers! Jesus is coming back!
Christ told us: Deny yourself. Take up your cross daily ( suffering, temptation, selfishness, etc) and follow me". The good feelings are the end result. The joy comes when you make Christ everything in your life. Everything else is second. A distant, distant second. Teresa of Calcutta reminds us that serving the poor, the destitute, the sick, the diseased in the name of Jesus brings one joy. This means that we must strive to serve Christ in all we do. The words " me", and "mine", must disappear from our lives.
Prayers and blessings from Chicago. So grateful to share in this familiar hymn sing and worship. Our prayers are not canceled indeed
Thank you so much for live steaming this. I am grateful.
Prayers and blessings from England. Thank you for the opportunity to sing and pray together
Liked it, good job on the filming, cool👍‼️
its ( not it's ).😮
Swahili is spoken by 12,000,000 peoples on the Mozambique coast of East Africa which includes Kenya which has only minority groups each with their own language with one fifth of it's people being Kikuyu which is the largest minority group there.😮
who was a ( not it ) member there.😮
I was confirmed at Saint Barnabas Protestant Episcopal Church when I was 13. I was steered to use my church vote to vote for the merger and expansion of our church with the Caucasian high Episcopal Church with nuns where I knew a high school classmate who was it member there. But I felt like I wanted to vote along with the one man who had the only dissenting vote to maintain the status quo so that black and mulatto Afro Americans could retain their own Episcopal Church in northwest Philadelphia rather than merging with one of the five Caucasian Episcopal Churches in northwest Philadelphia.😮😮
Perhaps the very best rendition of "Lift Every Voice and Sing" that I have ever heard. And also, to the youth choir, you are indeed blessed.
I love this!
So exciting to see this piece back in the Diocese and looking better than ever!
Wow! Just WOW! God be thanked.
Thank you Paige Miller and Diana Whitener for the beautiful restoration of the Samuel Yellin Crozier. True artistry!
Magnificent! Bless the craftspeople! What a testament to their skill, both past and present! Brings a tear to my eye to see such extraordinary work inspired by the Lord! Well done!
PEACE, Every Blessing Distinguished Bishop. I give God all the Praise and Glory for the vision of this becoming reality. Not to be the contrarian; but the vestry that this was presented to declined the proposal. The reason being is the proposal was to gather in POC in the LGBTQIA+ community, training the young priest of the Diocese who fit that description to be the nucleus of a movement. For far too long the young people of color who are LGBTQ in our churches have felt excluded and marginalized. THANK GOD the Spark of the Holy Spirit is igniting a Fire For The World To See.
AMEN! I hope and pray MANY truly hear and reflect on this powerful message. Mother Theresa said “Loneliness is the leprosy of the west” and clearly her insight is correct.
Dear Richard Watson, thank you for your art and wisdom. Your words and art inspire me to do more for my community in being a presence and actively engaged in change. This engagement is through outreach work and political participation.
What an enjoyable experience to have been a part of. I appreciated the opportunity to share the experiences with my beloved friend and colleague in the world of the arts, Walter Edmonds. May he always be remembered as the catalyst for that journey that we shared !
