Mick was infuriating throughout this storyline. On repeat, the same scene would play out, for almost three full months: Mick waltzes around Linda, completely oblivious to his wife's very obvious body language, whilst having a one sided conversation with himself about something totally unrelated. Whenever Linda would speak, quivering with fear, as if about to tell him about the rape, he'd say something stupid like "Hang on babes, let me just say this first, yeh?", before saying something lovey-dovey or inspirational, making it impossible for her to tell him. This story ruined the Carter family forever for me. I really liked their energy prior to this, but the relentless misery and sloppy, repetitive writing/directing of this aftermath put me off them forever.

I've been re-watching eastenders classic episodes from 2008-2011 I need to say that witnessing all which Lauren has been through as an elder sister. Abi has had it some what easier than Lauren... I used to think Abi had it worse because she was showing emotional expressions but really Lauren has had it worse Lauren just hid her suffering from everyone. but just imagine how Lauren must've felt by going through the same trauma but having to reassure and protect your youngest siblings from their suffering. Lauren has thick skin by putting up with Abi and Oscar's safety amongst herself by advocating for them against Max and Tanya not only her youngest siblings but her best friend when she was off the rails with her own family antics leaving Lauren to look out for Whitney by coming up against Rob and then we have Lucy another best friend of Lauren's since they were kids just imagine how much Lauren has been through Lauren truly is remarkable.
