Beautiful varnish! Would you share the recipe?
What if the hole is too big?
بسیار لسیار زیبا
What would happen if you mixed beeswax + oil varnish + pine resin and applied it to the violin?
Hi. I watched in the hope of finding an answer to a question that clearly no one asks. Those P90 have the magnets offset. IE there is more magnet toward the end farthest from where the cable exits. The bridge is more exaggerated than the neck, at least in the pair I have. So which way around were they intended to go? I'd assume that you'd get more top or bottom from the more magnet pole. Is it simply that the cable goes toward the pots. That's what I've done previously and their humbucker with the logo do obviously go that way. This would mean the magnet is offset toward the low E Anybody??
Useless
Daily is good!
The A string barely playable with this curve... Especially with the tube on the E string
Awesome!
What's the tool called?
Looks great!
What do you think about rebracing the popsicle brace area so the top re-establishes the original radius across the upper bouts?
Restauration work on that double bass as a live stream sounds nice!
I haven't used one myself but have you ever tried one of the new ai editors? They are apparently getting good.
I personally don’t mind live just can’t watch every time while live is happening. Hopefully though it will save after you go live I think they do. I don’t get to see much from your FB page
Great idea, but would need a heads up in time to allow me to catch the live stream.
Thank you! I got me one of those for Xmas, I already play guitar so I knew there had to be some setup involved, I honestly eyeballed it because I really wanted to play already but I wanted to learn to do it correctly for my next string change. Wish you had gone a little deeper with the bridge measurement but anyway now I have a very good general idea of what needs to be done, thank you very much!
Violin became fiddle
Exactly
Just stumbled onto your channel. I'd love to see more violin-making videos. The violin-top ones are really insightful
When you narrate a project, the fun part is to listen to what you're thinking while you are doing it. Things you picked up along your learning curve to avoid type stuff.
Brilliant video!👍
This is so helpful, thank you!
Very nice
Do you have any use for all the old strings you get through your work?
i got the same pencil 😂
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful Viola! I call anything with shoulders violas. So sorry if it's a violin. I admire the simplicity of the varnish ingredients. Hope she cures up nice and hard for you! I wonder if sun thickened linseed oil would allow a less burnt appearance? That way you wouldn't have to cook it all and risk blowing up? I got through vanishing my bridge with clear nail polish 3 months ago. Just dime store clear nail polish. Two coats and it sets up in about 20 minutes to half hour. Takes maybe a week to entirely get hard. I'm very satisfied with the finish. A little thick but it sets up so nice and quick it's almost worth it. If I had to do it over I would have thined it 50/50 with acetone. To aid brushing. But as it sits I've been playing Sibillious on her and I was the one who carved her from the stock bridge blank. Hope you'll follow up and show coats 2 3 and 4 of your 5 string violin. Im a former oil painter and anything to do with painting and vanishing interests me. Thanks for showing your beautiful craftsmanship. I wish I could make my own violin! Kudos and congratulations!😅
Hi,can i use a 1/8 bridge on a 1/10 cello?
Shouldn't be an issue, most important is the bassbar placement. The soundpost you can place symetrically easily, but not the bassbar. Ideal distance on this small size would be around 2mm inside the bridge foot, for both the bassbar and the soundpost. Problem is the bridge has to be centered on the body and the fingerboard for good results. On many instruments it can't be done without some tricks. Main option is to tilt the bridge by removing more from one foot or the other, and line everything up this way. No more than 2mm difference on a cello tho. Good luck
Looking for insight/ideas. Got a broken truss rod, but the break is within the channel beyond the wood layer near the nut (hope that makes sense). Trying to figure out how to salvage the guitar. It's looking like there may be no way of getting around the full truss rod replacement surgery. Searching for ideas before i dive full in...
Hang on... so is the brass nut fixed permanently? Wouldn't it be only able to tighten if it wasn't?
Do you have to worry about dropping the endpin?
Just amazing thanks for your patience 😊
How much this one
I want this violin
How about Bone bridge?
Black and Gold are a great combo!
I’d like to see you do a full guitar build if you have special things you do you don’t want someone knowing that’s ok don’t video it I’d understand
I don’t hide anything. I’ve got a guitar build coming up that I’m going to film.
@@lukeheatonatwhittlesticks1711 that’s awesome. To be clear I wasn’t saying you hide stuff just respectfully saying I understand if there were a special something you do that you don’t just show anyone I’d understand that. It’s awesome you show this. We don’t have spruce wood around here could you possibly use oak or elm or pine just wondering.
Thank you so much for sharing this informative video ! please keep up !🌹
You didn't clean off the white charcoal..
Very excellent ! Thank you so much for sharing this video !
I see you didnt peg paste the other 3strings , its that a $75 upgrade 😅
Smaller segments. Rather than 40 + minutes.imo
Thank you! I use spirit varnish but a few good tips here!
You didn’t adjust the tuning pegs to be flush…. ???
Linda madeira
How do yoy measure the new height
Depends on musician preferences, usually around 8mm on C and 5.5 or 6mm on A, measured from the fingerboard end to the bottom of the string
I like it all. Any length will be appreciated.
Please shoot the "Singer".....
GREAT video! I see certain techniques that are applicable to my own work.
Seeing some Bass work would be fun!
