That's the nicest pine I have ever seen on video some of it looked like Doug fir
That was a real nice one. Thanks for watching.
Every time I see that sawing technique, I think that those logs would make beautiful columns.
Yes they would
Thems some pretty boards.
Yes I agree 👍
Nice and easy sawing, good job
Thanks 👍
Looks like what we call red pine in Ontario. We have hemlock tamarack. Jack pine Scott’s pine. White pine and red pine. Then black and white spruce. Hemlock is the hardest of the softwoods
Thanks. There's so many different pines for sure
that's some nice looking pine!
They really were! Thanks Mark.
I have been in the woods are sawmill most of my life and I have never heard of black pine they look alot like what we call himlock pine but I met a Yankee one time that called the live oak down here blue Jack oak and he was cutting them up for fire wood which is a good word for fire wood but it takes it about 2are3 years to dry out if you burn it green it will stop up your chimney but God Bless Y'all and 🎉😂
Thanks and God bless yall too!
Nice logs and they did not seem to give you much trouble while giving up some really nice finished product, and as usual the saw is singing just fine.
Thanks 👍
This log made several flawless beautiful boards. Before moving on to heavy construction, I bought a lot of 'C' grade 1 X 6 pine for making door jambs before pre-hung door units were readily available. This brought back many fond memories (and some not so fond...lol) of having a lot of wood work to do to complete the construction of a home. Thanks for the video.
That's awesome and you are welcome. Thanks!
this is rapidly becoming my favorite channel. No nonsense, just sawing
Thanks so much
Those were really nice boards from a difficult log. It's always fun to see the Jason wave in the video, too. Bill
Thanks Bill!
CLEAN pine and glad you got a shot of the fuzzy-faced sawyer! Blessings!
Yes it was. Thanks
That’s a new one for me black pine looks great we have some pine trees that grow crooked and are knotted but I can’t say what some people called them because it was bad 😆
Glad you enjoyed it.
Beautiful grain on a lot of those boards
Yes indeed!
Sawing fas and cants thats the best way
Definitely!
Mr. Nichols, I have a question for you, sir. The title of your videos is Nichols, sawmill, and more. I am curious to what is the more. He otherwise you’re doing a fine job, but climbing up on the rollers with your chainsaw it’s not there, best safety wise. I wish you lots of luck. God bless.✌️🇨🇦
Not as much of the more as we anticipated but some earlier this year. Thanks for the concern. Thanks for watching.
The machine works very smoothly
Thanks.!
So relaxing watching you saw. Thanks for the video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
wow, super quality smart machine, like
Thanks
Today we sawed Siberian elm. Beautiful looking stuff some call it Chinese elm. Or poor man’s walnut. It has white sap ring with dark brown wood the bark even looks similar. It was nice sawing somthing exotic for a change
I've never sawn or seen those or least I don't think I have
@@nicholssawmillandmore Ya we got about 40000 ft in total. Made it into 4/4 rustic flooring it’s turned out really nice. First time our mill has ever seen it in Ontario. But I’m sure everyone will start seeing more of it in the next few years
We have a wooden jig made that shows where the track would sit on the RR tie So we know if it will make a tie or not Basically shows where wane and defects can be or can’t be. It works really well Gotta be boxed heart or close as possible too. We even shipped a couple loads of soft maple RR ties which is a strange one for us
That's pretty cool.
Sounds like you’re very fair in your estimations..
Thankya
Nice..Would like to see the debarker in action sometime
Will do
Those were some butt ugly logs, but they did provide some nice looking side lumber as well as the ties. Saw sounds good as usual. Stay safe and cool.
Yes they were and did. Thanks and we will definitely try
Nice sawing, guys.
Thanks 👍
Gosto de ver esta serra cortar
Glad you enjoyed watching
Always fun to watch, Jason. I saw some really nice boards coming off of those logs, too. Bill
Thanks Bill
What size are railway sleepers in USA?
7x9x 8ft inch
good job
Thanks
Those first couple of slabs could make some interesting tables
That's for sure. Thanks for watching
👍
Thanks
That's pretty awesome. fast pace to keep up with demand. That' the way it is and people expect it.
Glad you liked it. Thanks
Interesting how you can shift the drivers' position in the truck from the right side to the left side! Nice work. 🙂
Haha yeah I used both the forward facing camera and the rear facing one. Thanks for watching.
Mill sounds great But that log sucks
Thanks!
Hauling a load of what?
Hauling a load of cants ( 3 and a half by 6s)
¡Qué video tan fascinante! Ver cómo cortas roble blanco es realmente impresionante. Me encanta la precisión y el cuidado que pones en cada corte
Thanks!
That log was a real pain to saw but you got it done. The best part was you got to spend time with Deeanna even if it was in the truck. Bill
Thanks and yes it's nice to spend time together
nice stop sign Jason!
Thanks, but I think you're still the stop sign king! Ha Ha!!
great videos,good job
Glad you like them!
You do not have a double arbor edger?? Gang saw?? For cants. Or trim saws ??
Nope I sure don't
I recognize where you’re at about 15:00 minute mark, US 220 passing through basset forks. My pallet shops about 45 minutes north of there might have to get you to bring me a load of cants one day 😂 great video once again
That's awesome. Maybe we can do some business together sometime
Essa torra deu uma surra 😂😂😂😂
I rekon so.
It is always something that’s a universal truth Jason, thanks folks ❤
Yes indeed. Thanks
Pallet and ties seem to be the safest market material you get some nice white oak and they say poplar or veneer 😆 enjoyed the video.
Probably so. Thanks
A small challenge with the log sawing but "it got done!" Thanks for the video.....sorry about your tire woes.
No doubt. Thanks
That first log was not only ugly but a trouble maker. I guess it just did not want to become a swan as it did appear to produce some nice lumber.
For sure. Thanks
Why didn't the first log get debarked?
Honestly I'm not really sure
I am a sawyer from south dakota (not known for trees) we do have some really nice hardwoods, have a large bandsaw that I built from scratch, I really enjoy learning from other expierenced sawyers you have a great channel.
That's awesome. Making something like that from scratch is an awesome accomplishment. Good job. Thanks for watching
My dad always told me, "you have to know where the last board is in the log before you start sawing the log!" Thanks for a really nice video.
You're welcome
