My first review. I chose the KTM Terra Adventure Jacket and Pants to review as I could not find all the info I needed to make an informed decision to purchase these items.
Hopefully I will have somme time to do a review of these items during the coming summer months as the 1 month review was done during winter here in South Africa (July).
It was so much fun to create this video, but also much more challenging than I anticipated. I hope the info is informative. Practice makes perfect. Thanks for watching.

These engines still impress me every day. they start every time and they run extremely well even after 15 years. 2006 models. Just a pity that Evinrude stopped producing them. Local guys stull get parts for them though.

@@1jamarkus hey bro, one more question, you seem really tall, iam 195, iam guessing your about the same maybe taller :) what size jacket did you get. iam trying to order it online and my ktm dealer doesnt have the jacket so i can try for fitment
@Aleksandar Botic I am also 195m tall. I have the XL in the jacket and XL in the pants as well. The jacket fits perfectly! Pants are ok with the Tech 7 boots, but I would have liked them to be 3 or 4 cm longer.

Buy them, they are nice... and they compliment the jacket.

TC off. I usually use dynamic or standard mode. Have not tried the other modes when doing wheelies.

since I first drove my old ducati mts 1200, never trusted a rear break to do wheelies on a motorcycle lol (literaly the brake sudenly can fade away 100% without any notice)
I have a 1290 SA but lack the balls to get the front wheel up intentionally! I understand that the computer will allow the wheel to come up to a certain extent before intervening in order to prevent the bike going over backwards, is that the case? BTW, I have the Akra can (on the bike when I bought it), think I need to save up for an Arrow can!
You will have to switch off MTC (motorcycle traction control) in the menu. Then it will lift. I was also a bit scared in the beginning. Baby stepts is key! BTW, I flipped the bike on the day I shot this footage. I was standing and wheelie... and somehow missed the rear break when it went too far backward. But, I sent it in for some repairs and I was back on the bike within 2 months after healing up. Now I'm much more carefull and the wheelies are umproving steadily.. Wheelies are great fun but you must be carefull and remember rear break is your friend in wheelies! Have fun!
Arrow and Wings exhausts in my opinion sound the best on the 1290 Adventures.
Hey Mark Which rider mode are you in? Sport and traction control switched off? Does it matter what ABS setting?

I taught myself how to wheelie on a xr 125😂 i had to clutch up in first then switch to second mid wheelie to wheelie further. Edit 1: im a decent rider and have ridden a fair few powerful bikes, i got my motorcycle license a few months ago. What do you recommend is a good second bike? I was thinking a drz 400 maby
I don't know those bikes that well buddy. Get the bike you can afford and that serves the purpose you want to usecit for. Happy riding!

I'm in the same position as Tee Macmahoney. I can wheelie litre sports bikes and any KTM I've ridden (450 EXCs, 1090, 1190) but not my 1290 SAS (2019). I've turned MTC off, ABS to offroad, Offroad mode on, tried clutch and power wheelies and can only lift the front wheel 30cm or so before the MTC kicks in and gently brings it down. Can't get anywhere near the balance point. I am wondering whether it is a software issue and/or the year of the bike. What year is your SAS Mark Matthee?
It’s a SAR not an S. Not very important but....
SAR. MTC off and it goes up no problems.

I'd say off and in sport mode. Street mode is a bit more controllable. Rain mode it feels like a Tenere700. 🤣

@@1jamarkus hi Mark how long do you own the bike? Any problems with it? I have mine for week only and is going bak to the dealer for rear shock leak...but so far i am amazed of it! Ps any chance you could tell me dimensions of the muffler? Mine is missing and it take weeks to get one ordered so i could weld it myself thx
@@pavo555 I baught my bike new early 2019. It is amazing. Had an issue with the steering lock but the dealer sorted it out. Other than that. No issues. Muffler htough..., not sure about the size. Must first measure it...

Ti Mano hi there. I’m fairly new. Been doing it for 2 months now. Been practicing 2hours per day after work and 2-3 hours per day over weekends. So progress has been steady. Keeping on going. Can hold it quite some distance now. Keeping on practicing. Must say, it was very scary in the beginning, but starting off slowly and stopping before the concentration lapses has been key to my progress.
I use 2nd gear. Some of the wheelies were in 1st (the ones where I am seated)

I'm fairly new to wheeling too was practicing with the mt 09 I was very scary sometimes
By using the clutch in first gear you do it with the clutch or by the acceleration?

Frankie Corrado all rider aids off. I switched to street mode as the racing mode throttle response is too aggressive.

You shouldn’t have to use so much power to lift it. I just touch the throttle and clutch and it goes up in 1st, 2nd and even 3rd gear. My bike is standard. Maybe you should contact tour dealer and find out what’s going on with tour bike?
quite strange mine doesnt lift with mtc off and in sport mode. do you pop the clutch hard?
You need to drop the clutch when you do it.

Increasingly frustrated with mine. Switched everything off ABS, MTC and slipped/powered, damn near hammered it and nothing. My scramblers went up easier as a kid. For a 1.3ltr it shouldn't need anywhere near the juice I've tested at. I have the dongle also. Dunno man..
Tee Macmahoney you should be able to lift it easily without much effort. Just timing. How are the the weelies going lately?
